This hotel is very modern, upscale and has excellent staff. All speak English, are happy to assist with travel, sight-seeing and transportation to and front the airport and to and from the cruising port. We arrived a few days before our cruise.

We were able to book the room, private transport and tour support PRIOR to our arrival and all via their internet and emails between us and the front desk. Added end bonus...we used our Hilton Honors points to pay for the two night three day stay. Breakfast buffet was delicious! Free internet and free business office area in the lobby; well stocked and fast internet connections. The location...perfect...we we within walking distance to bus, tram and call ahead taxi.

We took a tour of Rome at our pace, seeing the areas we wanted in a golf cart complete with a driver and ability to see the sights "up close" being able to go where a taxi or tour bus could not go. Did I mention we toured fresh markets, traditional bakeries, and of course the major sites...all in our chauffeured golf cart! The hotel advised us when the tour guide arrived and took great pains to order and arrange private cars and transportation.

Ok...back to the actual hotel. very small elevators, typical of Italy...but when I say small...think-- claustrophobia. The room we were assigned was clean, bright and very tastefully decorated. The bed was firm -- not hard and the bed linens were top of the line...not flimsy or thread bare, but just one notch down from luxurious. We had a small balcony facing a quiet courtyard with a small cafe table and two chairs. Quaint, private and great for a wine and cheese break at mid evening.

The bathroom ...shower was odd ..it was a walk-in all glass with two door openings and water tended to spill out on the floor just a bit. The full overhead rain shower and hot towel rack more than made up for this slight annoyance.

Ample closet with lighted space, a mini fridge, flat screen tv, small desk and chair, blackout drapes with sheer curtains and glass sliding doors. Side night lights on each side of the bed and Coffee, tea and cream with glass cups and plugin in kettle. Just bring a few fresh pasties from the supermarket across the street, put in the mini fridge and brew a cuppa to sip and have a lazy lie-in before a busy day of touring!

Would I stay again? Absolutely.

P.S....I purchased two really great tasting bottles of Italian wine from the market across the steet
and took them with me to the ship. We are allowed two bottles per cabin. I kid you not...those wines were on par with the ships upscale "select" wines.

Stay at this hotel....you will be glad you did!

Room Tip: Stay in the rear rooms. Private balcony overlooking courtyard.

My husband and I stayed here pre and post cruise. Even though it was a bit removed from the city center, it was quiet and had several good restaurants near by. The staff at the hotel were very helpful when we had a questions and even though we arrived early the got us our rooms very quickly. Breakfast was sufficient and tasted good. Cappuccino's were outstanding in the dining room/bar as well as the service.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel tremendously. It was perfect for our purposes. Cozy rooms, friendly and helpful staff, free breakfast, free internet, and very reasonably priced rooms . . . what's not to love? Additionally, the proximity to mass transit was a huge bonus. The hotel is right next to two tram lines (one runs you to the Vatican, the other to the Coliseum), and several bus lines (to the main train station, Termini, the Trevi Fountain, and the main shopping street, the Via del Corso). All of these connect to major transfer points for several other bus, and tram lines, and the subway. For those who consider mass transit beneath them, stay someplace else . . . but for us, the convenience of mass transit was a huge bonus. This is one of the main reasons why we stayed at this hotel. Other reviews have noted that the hotel is a bit distant from the city center, but the proximity of mass transit options more than made up for this. Indeed, this hotel was more convenient for connecting to mass transit than many of the other hotels that we considered that were closer to the city center (e.g. the Marriott Flora which is a significant hike to the nearest subway and about three to four times the price). Two additional points here: first, the proximity to the Borghese Gardens is a huge bonus, and offers a nice respite from the crowds at the major tourist sites; second, some other reviews have said that the hotel is far from everything. Well, if you are willing to walk more than a block, or ride the tram a stop, or two, you will find this area of town actually has a lot to offer: great restaurants (one of the best steaks we have had anywhere just a few blocks away), crepes and gelato galore, even a bowling alley! Try and find that in the city center! If you want the typical overrated and overpriced tourist traps, stay someplace else, but if you want a more authentic Roman experience at restaurants that are populated by locals, not annoying tourists, then this is the hotel for you! The rooms are a little tight, but for anybody who has travelled in Europe, this is the norm. The rooms themselves were simply, but tastefully appointed. The balconies were also a plus! We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful; if you are not the (sadly) typical arrogant American tourist who thinks that everybody should speak English, and wait on you hand and foot, you will find the same. Make an effort to adapt, and you will be pleased. The staff allowed us to check in pretty early which was most welcome after a long flight (and a trying experience at the airport). The staff also kindly arranged for a private car to pick us up and drop us off at the airport for a fixed price . . . that worked out great, and was cheaper (we suspect, based on other reviews) and more convenient than just taking a taxi (among other things, the driver knew exactly where they were going!). Just send the hotel an email in advance of your trip. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel, and would not hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to Rome.

Dear Geoffrey K,
I have loved your detailed review!
Thank you very very much for all the nice words you have spent about us.
I have particularly appreciated the hint given about the location. You are perfectly right when you say that our areas offers a more typical roman experience to our customers.
Being away from the tourists route might be an enjoyable option sometimes.
Moreover our clients can easily reach all the tourists places that need to be seen in our beautiful city whenever they feel like to.
It'd be great to see you again, I do hope to meet you personally next time.
Arrivederci!
Warmest regards.

The good - the location was much better than I anticipated as there were several good restaurants nearby and an ATM. A taxi to Spanish Steps area was @ 10 euro. The #19 trolley takes you to Borghese Gardens. The breakfast was very good.

The not so good - the rooms were extremely small and there was no night table. I had to move a chair to side of bed. There is nowhere to put a second suitcase except on the floor, which made navigating the room a little difficult.

However location is the most important thing and this hotel is well located.

Modern hotel, clean rooms, enjoyable and helpful staff, would stay here again, reasonably priced room. They have a laundry room, helpful for long vacations or travel. Great breakfast, with good business center to print out travel or board passes. Lots of excellent restaurants close by. Easy access to mass transit- street car & buses in front of hotel. Termini station is 15 min taxi ride or 25 min street car/metro. Taxi service is good, hotel will schedule airport taxi for you ($55 euro). Ciao!

When we travel to larger cities with lots of tourist activities we often seek out a hotel away from the crowd. We look for a close-in neighborhood where residents live so we can feel like locals (as if that's possible with a 4 word Italian vocabulary!) This time it was a Hilton in Rome's Patrioli neighborhood which is a tram ride (buy the Roma transit/ museum pass) away from many important sites in Rome and close to Borghese Gardens. A bonus this time was a much lower room rate than staying in the heart of Rome. We're Hilton loyalists because of the rewards program and the hotels are always well run and well appointed. The best part was the breakfast! A huge buffet with familiar foods as well as made to order espressos and eggs plus European pastries. One less meal to figure out!

The Villa Borghese art collection is an easy walk from the hotel. Make sure you make a reservation ahead of time because they limit the number of visitors and let only 200 in every two hours. You'll see Bernini sculptures up close, works by Raphael, Caravaggio and Greek and Roman antiquities. Sign up for a guided tour. Our guide was an art history professor who was superb! Also in the gardens were great running opportunities, bike rentals and the Rome Zoo. One of the earliest zoos to exhibit animals in habitats not cages, it is small and not as spiffed up as US zoos but it was fun to wander around and a it was a break from ancient ruins! Also has a butterfly exhibit. Let get a b'fly perch on your finger.

There was a grocery store across the street from the hotel and be sure to try the handmade fettuccine at Matzarella's next door to the hotel. See the review on trip advisor.

We just returned from a holiday in Rome Italy where we stayed for 3 nights. This is in a quiet upscale neighborhood near the Villa Borghese. The property is spotless & clean with a surprisingly well equipped gym facility. The front desk staff is incredibly friendly & knowledgeable & spoke impeccable English. Restaurant recommendations were perfect & directions clear & concise to our destinations. The rooms were smallish but ample & very comfortable. Baths were clean & towels very plush. The front desk staff arranged reasonably price private cars to the cruise port & then to the airport upon our return. Breakfast was also very good & offered nice variety. This property is a hidden gem for the money &.we will definately be staying here next September.
