We stay with my family (7 persons-4 rooms) for just one night before our cruise. The hotel is great, just 10 min with taxi (10-12 Euros) from the center. The area is very quiet and cheap. Also, near the hotel there is a Zoo, very nice, you must visit. The restaurant in the hotel has very good food and good prices - the same for the restaurants in the area (better food and price than in the center). Good transportation and safe area. The hotel staff are very helpful. The size of the room is very good, new furniture’s and modern decoration, very clean rooms and bathrooms. Definitely I will stay again when I will visit again Rome.

My wife and I weren't to crazy about going to this Hilton due to the reviews, Co-workers of mine told me they had enjoyable stays, so what the heck. The staff was great the girl who's name I cannot remember was so helpful telling us what trams to get on and best places to eat were all spot on for us. The rooms were clean as always with Hiltons, Did the breakfast thing 12 Euros I thought was high but so is all of Rome. Still enjoyed the breakfast. One more thing can anyone in Italy cook scrambled eggs???? Runny is out!! Tram was right across the street and so was a grocery store. Very glad we took the chance in going to this place, We will go back.

Room Tip: we stayed in 704 doesn't really have great view but weren't looking into a wall.

Dear HWDPhilly,
Thank you very very much for having spent some time to write a comment about our hotel.
We are really pleased your expectations were not unattended and that your co-workers had enjoyed their stays too.
Regarding your question: Yes, we italian can cook scrambled eggs, I guess we just do it differently from the americans. It would be great if you gave us some hints on what you think was wrong about the cooking. We are always willing to learn from our guests!
We are looking forward to another occasion to welcome you.
Arrivederci!
Warmest regards.

This hotel was neat and clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Located in a residential area away from all the tourists. A tram runs in front of the hotel that can take you directly to the Vatican or is taken in the opposite direction for the Colliseum. A bus stop is around the corner that travels to Piazza Barbarini. The staff has a listing of what tram/bus to take to the more popular tourist sites make sure you ask for this along with a map of Rome-they also sell tram/bus passes. There is a small market across the street selling allitle of everything(fresh foods, bread, sundries, beer/wine). There is also a bank with atm across the street. Three very nice resturants within walking distance(next door and around the block) -we ate at two of the three and they where packed with people every night. It was nice to eat where the locals dine away from all the tourists. We had a great time in Rome and would gladly return to this hotel, the location (away from the tourist area) was a real plus.

I was very impressed with this hotel. It was so much cleaner and comfortable than what I am use to in the USA. Very European design with NO CAPPET which I loved!. Hotel staff was pleasant and very helpful. I did not think it was small compared to what is normal in Europe. If you compare it to USA standards it might be smaller. But I was happy with the size.

I thought the best part of this hotel was that it was away from the crowds and congestion and chaos of Rome. The location was quite and there were quite a few restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Being armed with this information, I didnt think it was difficult to go to the Colosseum or the Vatican from the hotel. The train/bus stopped close to the hotel. Once you plan for the extra time, you would be fine

For those from the USA - The train systems can be quite confusing. If you want to get to the Coliseum, you would take the #3 train. #19 was to get to the Vatican. There is no schedule but we just followed what the other folks did and we were fine. A cab ride for two from the Termini Train Station with two large suitcases cost us 12 Euros - and was worth it. We also let the hotel book their private car to take us to the Rome Airport for 50 euros, and we felt that was worth it also for convenience. It was prob about a 40 min ride from the hotel

The cafe across the street from the hotel are horrible. Bad service, pissed off servers. I would walk around the corner to Taverna Rossini. Great food and good service. There is also a supermarket across from the hotel if you needed to pick up water or snacks

I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: I believe all the rooms have a balcony on them and complimentary wi-fi to all for lenght of stay. H...

This hotel was clean and nice but it is rather far from the sites in Rome and required 10-20 Euro taxi each time we wanted to go to and from somewhere. The room was very small, even by Europe standards. Service was hit or miss, one night the concierge tried to charge us for a restaurant recommendation? However, the price was good, especially since we did not even end up using one of our non-refundable nights there except to store our luggage. It was OK, but would not return

I read reviews Online before booking this hotel and was disappointed to find out how many bus stops it actually was away from the city. I thought it would only be one, but in some cases it was 10-12 stops before making it to local attractions which added quite a bit of travel time. The hotel rooms are nice, but very small. I was less than impressed with the breakfast and there were a few days when the wifi was not working and we had no Internet access. This was an issue since we were traveling overseas and needed to be able to access email. We had to constantly inquire about it and it did not seem to be anything urgent to the staff. They just keptsayingthey they would work on it. . When typically staying in Hilton hotels, the staff is pleasant and helpful. I just did not get that feeling from anyone at this hotel. It seemed to be more of a bother to them when we asked for help. We woud have to stand at the front desk for awhile before they woud even get up from their seat to help us. Ultimately, I wished we had stayed elsewhere, particularly closer to the city center. Would not return to this property.

Dear Maddieave,
Thanks for your review.
We are sorry to learn you did not enjoy the stay at our hotel.
We believe it was mainly due to the hotel location which you define "away from the city".
It is now important for us to underline your statement so to explain to Tripadvisor readers that our property is not situated OUT of Rome.
The hotel sites in the Parioli area which is a central district at five minutess walking distance to the Borghese Gardens and at ten minutes of bus or taxi drive to Via Veneto.
Moreover it's necessary to consider that Rome is a big city with a considerably wide offer of historical places to visit which are not placed all in the same area.
However in front of our hotel our guests can find either bus and tram lines to reach all the important attractions, that need to be seen, quickly and easily. The city also have some very good and not too expensive radio taxi services that garantee a taxi arriving at the hotel in maximum two minutes.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the wi-fi connection problems you experienced for few days. We are also very sorry if you found our reception staff not pleasant and helpful. We can assure that it might have been an isolated case as that's not our standards, as you can check reading other comments that mostly define our employees nice and professional.
We sincerely hope you will give us another chance to show you our best efforts.
Kind regards.

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Claridge for five nights in early September. We'd debated a bit between this and a more expensive option, and ended up mostly happy with our choice. The room was clean and modern (though the carpet had some deep stains), the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was small but well-designed and sparkling, there was no street noise, and the AC worked well. Breakfast was decent, and the staff was friendly. There are several good restaurants within a block or two, and it is nice to be in an area with locals. A few things I wish I'd been able to figure out before we booked:
-- I wondered a lot before we went about the distance from the historic center and tourist sites. For us, this did not end up being a big issue at all. We love to walk, and found the half-hour walk to the Spanish Steps or the Popolo (mostly through the beautiful Borghese Park) one of the highlights of our days in Rome. The Borghese Gallery is only a 10 minute walk, through a very pleasant neighborhood. We probably walk more than most people do, but we never used a taxi or public transportation during our stay, and felt comfortable coming back at night (though not through the park). A more central location would be good for those who want to be out in the touristy areas until late and feel leery about using taxis, or for people who like to be in and out of their hotel frequently during the day -- but if you think of walking as part of the adventure, you'll be fine here.
-- the wi-fi service is good!
-- On a slightly more negative note, there is really no pleasant public space at the hotel, and our room, at least, was really really tiny (basically room for the bed with a little ring of floor around it. Some rooms have small balconies, but on ours no chairs are provided (there was only one office-style chair on the inside of the room), so it was kind of useless. These things detracted from our experience because we didn't feel like we could ever just go back to the hotel and spend time relaxing and doing nothing. A more upscale hotel would be a better option for this, especially considering how tired one can get on a hot Roman day by mid-afternoon!
All in all, though, we found this is a safe and pleasant hotel.
