We spent 4 nights here in late October. A smaller, very classy place on a quiet side street just off a main avenue. Wonderful location - <10 min. walk to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and ~20 min. from the ancient center. Also great restaurants a short walk away. Impeccable service, and a wonderful breakfast (buffet and to order). Hop on/off bus stops right across the piazza. Not a huge room but very nice, also large bath/shower. Very cozy, old word feel. A nice quiet place after a busy day in the city. Would definitely stay again.

At the end of our cruise this week, (Nov 2013), we took a few extra days to spend in Rome, one of our favorite cities in the world. We chose the Hotel Barocco because of the positive comments we had seen on TripAdvisor.com and because it was the perfect location for our touring the "old city" of Rome to show our friends, who had not been there before. In a word, the Hotel Barocco was PERFECT!! I can't identify a most perfect element because it was all so worderful. They had arranged our transportation from the port to the city (and then to the airport later that week.) The drivers arrived early which was great and accommodated 6 "seniors" and lots of luggage with ease and grace. When we arrived at the hotel, we were pleased and surprised to find that our rooms were ready for us (hours earlier than had been expected.) The staff at the front desk was friendly, helpful and always available to answer our questions or provide good advice. The rooms were a nice size and well appointed, the beds comfortable. The lighting was great, so one of us could read without disturbing the other. The bathrooms were a good size and the added touches of slippers, robes and heated towels made it feel like home. The fruit and cookies were delicious and appreciated. The chambermaid found a way to make our luggage more accessible without even having to ask. The room and bathroom was always clean each time we returned from our days of touring. The breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of choice and the omelets they made to our request were perfectly done. The recommendation they made to us of using the hop on/ hop off bus was a great way to get around to the important sites as well as learn a little about those sites. That we could purchase the tickets in the hotel as well with the bus stop just across the piazza, just made it even easier.

I'm not sure when we'll get back to Rome, but when we do, Hotel Barocco will be our home away from home.

Room Tip: I liked having a room that didn't face the main street as it was very quiet, but I understand th...

great location matched only by the staff, outstanding hosts. This boutique hotel is in the mists of much larger and expensive hotels but I could not think of staying at anyplace other than the Barocco.

We stayed there 4 nights before our cruise. The hotel has a great location-walk to the metro, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very good. The room was on the small side, but typical for Rome.

After an extensive review of Rome hotels we decided to book the Barocco for our first visit to Rome based on location and reviews at tripadvisor. What a great decision that was. This hotel is located so close to all the many wonderful sites to see in Rome that it made our walkabouts easy in all four directions from the hotel. Our rooms were very comfortable ( the bed especially ) quite and well appointed.
The staff took great care of us arranging cars, tours and restaurant reservations, all exceeding our expectations. They arranged a last minute private tour of the Vatican on a Saturday when the tickets were sold-out and it was the highlight of our trip. The breakfast buffet and great wait-staff started our day perfectly. We booked the deluxe rooms and they surprised us with an upgrade to a suite! We will return here without question! Thank you everyone at Hotel Barrocco!

My son and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Barocco. I had really struggled about what area and hotel to stay in prior to our trip. I saw all of the areas I had considered and realized this was the best! 5-10 minutes to Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Lots of restaurants close-by and Osteria Barberini is 30 seconds up the road. We had a delicious dinner the night we arrived. We took the Green Line hop on, hop off bus that is located just around the corner and it was a great way to see the main areas in Rome. We took taxis a couple of times and they were very reasonable. The service at Hotel Barocco was better than we could have asked for, our room was small but very, very comfortable. The only thing I would suggest is to provide complimentary bottled water in the room. The breakfast is the best that I have experienced in any hotel ever. Thanks so much to everyone at Hotel Barocco.

We stayed in the annex, which we found very comfortable. Clean, spacious, and nice touches. What others have said before about the staff here I have to echo...they were great, very helpful and particularly a nice welcome experience to Italy. Hotel is nicely located...you can walk to many of the places you will want to go see, and on top of that, the metro is about as close as you can get, plus there are a line of taxis practically across the street.
