“Convenient, friendly hotel near to Spanish Steps”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in July for my birthday. To celebrate the hotel gave us a complimentary bottle of Champaign which was a really a really nice touch.

Check in and out was quick and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is near to the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain and 1 km from the Pantheon. It is very conveniently situated.

The staff helped me to book a popular hotel in the city that was fully booked for a week. They kept phoning until someone cancelled. Very sweet lady at the reception would not give up trying.

The rooms are a good size with a king size bed. Cosy but not huge.

The bathroom is very small but the shower is big enough.

The breakfast is simple, serving continental aswell as cooked eggs on request.

Downside:
TV - The staff showed us how to use the TV and change the language to English but it worked sometimes and other times it did not.

The hotel is expensive - R4300 per night (EURO672 for 2 nights) but I suppose for the location it was understandable.

Room Tip: We had room on the first floor at the end of the corridor which was very convenient that has a view...

The Hotel Barocco was everything and more than we expected. The rooms were very inviting, with lovely linens and a marble bath. We were greeted with flowers, fruit and other treats during our six day stay, The hotel is very conveniently located on Piazza Barberini, just steps away from the metro and excellent dining and shopping on the Via Veneto and as well as other streets. We were within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountains and shopping on Via Condotti. The hotel arranged for us to picked up and driven back to the airport, which was a treat for weary travellers. And our every request was handled with promptness and courtesy. I can't say enough about the staff at the hotel, including the concierege as well as the waiters in the breakfast room. By the way, I am still trying to find melon as lucious as that at the hotel. We look forward to our return and will definitely stay here again!

Hotel Barocco sits between the Trevi Fountain and Piazza di Spagna and within walking distance to many other famous locations. The front desk couldn't be more helpful and the service was great. .... Great breakfast......

We stayed here for 2 nights before a cruise. Fabulous location, close to everything without crazy traffic or noise. All the employees were very kind and helpful. Great rooftop bar. Superior double rooms have nice terraces. Would definitely stay there again when in Rome!

We stayed after our Cruise. The Staff was Great! Staff made a great recommendation for dinner a short walk away. Breakfast was Awesome. Staff helped print off our boarding passes for our flights home. If we get back to Rome it will be my first choice!

We just returned from a really great trip to Italy. During the Rome part of our trip,we stayed at The Hotel Barocco in Room 42. The hotel is conveniently situated within easy walking distance to many sights and there is also a taxi stand nearby. Our room was large by Rome standards and had a long bathtub with a shower connected to it. The beds were absolutely wonderful - so comfortable! We looked forward to coming back at the end of a long hot day of sightseeing to a relaxing bath/shower and a good night's sleep. Since the room is on the 4th floor and faces the side of the hotel (off the piazza), we also found it to be quiet. The breakfast was substantial. We were offered our choice of eggs each morning, but we always declined. The selections at the buffet were always more than enough for us. The service was overall excellent.

The only minor negative is that we did not care for the restaurant recommendation given by one of the front desk representatives - Crispy 19 - we found the restaurant to be very touristy and the food quality sub par. Interestingly, this restaurant has received many good reviews on Trip Advisor, but it was not a good experience for us at all. Again, that was only a minor thing in an overall great experience with this hotel.

We definitely recommend a stay at Hotel Barocco.
