Location: great location steps from via veneto, and barberino subway stop. Also near Spanish steps, and Villa Borghese. Not too far from Trevi fountain. Situated next to strip club but don't let that bother you (might be a bonus to some people?). It's quiet. As is probably true with any hotel in Rome, there are tons of great restaurant options steps away. Almost all pasta or pizza of course!
Room size: TINY, even for this 5 foot 1 inch petite gal. Very little storage, 1 cupboard, 1 drawer. Sink was super small.
Climate: Air conditioning works, if you're ok with having to get up to reactivate out every couple of hours! It just didn't work properly. I would push the power button and it would activate with a solid light indicator. After an hour or so, the AC would shut off and the power indicator would be blinking. You'd have to power it off and back on to reactivate the AC. Which would be active for about an hour again. It was only about 20 Celsius and cool at night. It would have been preferable to leave the window open but there was no screen to block the mosquitoes. Recommendation to hotel management would be to add screens, you'd probably save on power. Our else fix the AC. Otherwise it gets unbearable and unbreathable. I would not stay here again because of this.
Reception: Check-in and checkout was easy and quick. Helpful in directing us to RomaPass vendor. However when asked about AC, we got the brush off. They said "that's how AC works", it turns off when it reaches the temperature, which is pathetically true, but ours turned off permanently! Also one day we returned to find the room hadn't been made up. We called to get fresh towels, but the front desk agent said it was too late and he would help but he'd was the only one at the front desk...not sure what happens when he has to go to the toilet during the night shift... anyway we were able to hunt for towels on our own but don't expect to have anyone bend over backward in terms of service.
Breakfast: included in your stay. Decent. Would be nice to have more variety of fruit, had canned peaches and prunes daily. Better than nothing though. Lots of carb options, cereal, pastries, toast. Yogurt, cheese, salami, ham. Coffee options were great. Other reviewers are right about limited space in the breakfast room, but we were able to get a table every day. Maybe it's worse in peak season.
Amenities: hair dryer, scented toilet paper!, no box of tissues, shampoo only, soap bar, no lotion or moisturizer, shower cap, shoe sponge(what is that anyway?)
Bed: firm but comfortable after a long day of walking. Pillows are thin, not for side sleepers.
Other: shower has no door and it's in front of the toilet. Remember to move the toilet paper or it'll get wet. Turn on shower by pushing the hot/cold knob up. Wi-Fi was good.
