Stayed 2 nights in mid-October at this hotel. The rooms are clean, quiet, small but cosy. Not much room to move around with suitcases but that's really minor. No hairdryer in the bathroom. No door in the shower stall either which would equal a nice watery mess on the floor. Once again, these are minor details. Room was super quiet, didnt hear a peep from outside which was great. Rome is a great city to visit but I was a bit overwhelmed at the end of the day, so retiring to a comfy cosy room was nice. The location is hard to beat, close to Spanish steps and Fontana Di Trevi, close to shopping, right on the corner of Via Veneto! As someone else said, it is next to a lap dance club but you wouldnt know it unless you saw the sign. Breakfast was ok. Service was ok. If you are looking for an affordable, modern, clean and well located hotel in Rome, I recommend the Hotel Caprice.

Im not sure I understand why this hotel has any bad reviews as we really couldn't fault it. (perhaps it has recently had a shake up....) . Our room was impeccably clean and very model. The bed was large and comfortable (firm mattress which my partner didn't like so much but I found it very comfortable). They have double glazing and black-out curtains so even though we had a view out to the street we slept totally soundly. The bathroom was small but very well equipped with bath and bidet. Breakfast was basic but good and the hot chocolate is recommended. Service was great throughout. This is a great value hotel within a stones throw of all the really expensive ones. our friend stayed about 2 minute's walk away and paid about 4 times our rate without breakfast. We would definitely stay there again if in Rome in the future. (We also have an 18 month old and would recommend it for children too although the lift takes a while if your child cant handle the stairs)

Room Tip: too too high if you don't like stairs as lift slow

Stayed for four nights in Sept 2012. Hotel has been freshly renovated and the rooms are lovely and well appointed (despite not having an iron??). Bathroom was huge and the hotel was generally clean. Located in a quiet little street, made sleeping easy. The older male on reception was clearly a bit confronted when my (male) partner and I asked for a double bed (as opposed to singles) but got over it soon enough. Walking distance to the Spanish Steps and lots of cute little cafes and pizzerias. Would stay again.

Small but fresh rooms. The receptionstaff friendly, helpful and gave good recommendation of nice trattorias. Close to metrostation Barberini and attractions as the spanish stairs, Fontana di Trevio and Kapucinerkrypt. Hard Rock cafe 200 m from hotel.
Less good was just one small elevator for just three persons and often occupied.
The breakfast was average without egg and bacon. The breakfastroom was narrow. Depending on what time you had breakfast you had to wait for table.
But consider to the location and price its a Hotel you can recommend.

Room Tip: Often you have to take the stairs so choose a room not to high up.

I was looking for somewhere close to the main tourist attractions of Rome - Hotel Caprice is in a great location only 10 minutes walk from Trevi Fountain and a short taxi ride to the Colosseum. There are plenty of eateries close by in both directions (also a strip club next door - don't be put off though - you wouldn't even know it was there except for a sign). We checked in around 9.30pm, the check in was easy and pleasant. The room itself was small but very clean and modern with toiletries, a safe, mini bar and TV. A continental breakfast was included (the dining room was clean and pleasant but could have done with air conditioning!), The staff were obliging and friendly and didn't mind our bags being placed in the lobby until our transfer arrived. Although we only stayed the night i was glad I had booked Hotel Caprice and would recommend.
