“Great location with a few hiccups”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

The positives- Definitely a great location. Very, very clean. Restaurants are amazing. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Staff was over all friendly.

Negatives- WI-FI didn't reach our room. TV ( satellite) very difficult to use with very limited English speaking stations. The bed was as hard as a rock, no joke. Toilet didn't function properly, when we complained to staff late on our first night, we were told to "use a bucket or bag (eeek!) and to use the main hotel restroom if there was an emergency." The next morning the staff made up for it by upgrading our room, which was nice.

Overall I would recommend this hotel to a friend or family member.

Room Tip: Take advantage the discount the hotel gives on their restaurants.

We chose this hotel for a weekend gateway as it has great reviews on TA. The location is great and the staff polite and helpful - but we were shocked they could advertise such tiny, dark rooms as "Deluxe". The room was *very* small and cramped but the dealbreaker was the two small openings (5x10cm) on the wall that they called windows. Even on the 5th floor the room was always in obscurity. On the way back the taxi driver vehemently tried to get more money than what was arranged with the hotel - than did not help to keep a great souvenir of this place. Rome is a beautiful city full of great hotels - you won't have any trouble finding a better place to stay.
Would not recommend.

Good location, friendly staff, nice hotel. I would consider it more of a 3 star hotel. It does have plenty of amenities but not 4 star to U.S. standards. We used it for a one night stay before leaving out of Rome and it was good for that. Note that the standard rooms (which we used) are VERY small. It’s about the size of a cruise ship cabin. The bathroom is also very small. The TV was about 14 inches on the wall. The Wi-Fi worked very well and fast. We used the window to control the air temp. Breakfast was included and was okay. Could have some more hot options. There is a nice rooftop bar. Overall the hotel is nice with a good location near the Spanish Steps, shopping etc. However, if you’re looking for a true 4+ star hotel this may not be for you.

One thing I truly value when visiting a city is the location of the hotel. We love to walk out the door and have a large variety of services and venues to walk to. The Valadier is just that. Right near restaurants, cafes, Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso, The Spanish Steps, shopping and a stroll to numerous attractions. The hotel is well-maintained. The negative: the rooms are small. It's unfortunate but the other attributes seem to compensate for that. I must say that my travel agent's suggestion was right on target !

It's an excelent hotel, with a well-organised ,high level of service..The atmosphere makes you come back.Have to admit that Hi-res restaurant offers a big variety of gourman food,it's an amazing lounge to spent your evening with friends.During the day time i strongly recommend to visit the restaurant downstairs, because the pizza is the best i've ever tried in Rome.

Myself and my husband visited last weekend to celebrate his 50th Birthday. From the moment we stepped into the Hotel everything was perfect. We arrived hours before the stated check-in time but the friendly gentleman on reception made a quick phone call and found our room was ready and booked us in straight away, he had already offerred to store our bags if the room had not been ready. He also gave us a map with the hotel marked on it and a quick explanation of all the tourist spots, with an offer of any help needed we just had to ask. (all in perfect english) The room was lovely good size, with a small bathroom with shower( small but not too small - i was a little worried before we arrived as some posts said rooms & bathrooms were small and both myself & hubby are not little people). The room did have a quirky mirror over the bed! but then again the entire hotel had mirrors everywhere. Breakfast was in the restaurant on the roof, a beautiful setting that would be fantastic in the summer months. Food was plentyful both hot and cold options with everything being replenished as soon as it ran out, and the waiting staff making specialist coffees and hot chocolate to anyone who wanted a change from the standard coffee or tea, If we had eaten dinner in the roof restaurant we had been offered 20% discount by the friendly gent on reception. But we chose to eat at the sister restuarant next door on hubby's birthday night which also had a discount, this time 10% for staying at the hotel. On the other side of the hotel was a delightful german bar which was handy if you fancied a change from pasta , pizza & peronini (although you could get that there too). The location of the hotel is perfect for everything, sights, shopping restaurants, you name it. Everything you could wish for on a Rome weekend,.. I would recomend the hotel for anyone.

Mrs K & I visited Rome for the first time & absolutely loved it! Our friends recommended this Hotel & we were not dissapointed! The Hotel itself is in a fantastic location & from here we walked around the corner to the Spanish Steps & the Trevi fountain. We also walked about 25 mins to the Colisseum & about 30 mins to the Sistine Chapel. I guess what I am saying is the Hotel is in a fab place surrounded by fab bars & restaurants & with the main attractions within walking distance.
The Hotel has a classic look with lots of natural wood & marble walls on the outside of the lift from basement to the rooftop bar & terrace. The restaurant on the roof was amazing & I think it was called "Hi Res" with fab food & great views across the City serving creative Cocktails!
The Hotel Team were great, looked after us, spoke good English & were extremely personable!
On our return we would definitely rebook this hotel

Room Tip: The room we stayed in had mirrored ceilings, a dressing room, wardrobes in the hallway & an en s...
