I must say that I was disappointed with this hotel. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the hotel looks beautiful but I expected more from a 5 star hotel. When we first checked in our supposed non smoking room stank of cigarette smoke. We had to open the window up to get rid of the smell and to get some freshness into the room. The room was also overheated at night and we had to once again open the window. The bed was very comfortable but for a 5 star hotel the room was a little shabby. for example, the bathroom door had a large gap and did not close. A lot of the furtniture was looking shabby.

I did have a good stay in Rome and the location was perfect. The bar was a lovely place to have a pre dinner drink which was served with beautiful complimentary appetizers. Overall though, this hotel needs to look at finer details and ensure that non smoking rooms are exactly that!

A beautiful building. Sadly it ends there. Despite a high end booking (a suite with a connecting room), and travelling with two young children, the hotel saw fit to position us over a strip club that blared music until 2am including weekdays. The room itself was large, clean and nice but decorated by the courtesans that worked in said nightclub from what I can gather. I have a book at home on the decor of dictator homes, and this certainly gave it a run for its money. Perhaps an ok place for an EM oligarch's 14 year old boy to spend a weekend, but I wouldn't advise it for much else.

Mr. Hedayat
Thank you for expressing your opinion regarding the stay in our property, we are glad you find our rooms nice and spacious; we will also extend your compliments to our housekeeping staff. We would like to add that we are always grateful to all comments of our guests, since we believe that constructive criticism is important to improve the quality of service and refine our guests experience. We understand that each guest might have his own preference in terms of furnishing or design but in this case we feel your words were misleading. We collaborate with top Italian and international architects to decorate our rooms and suites, we number among our partners Mongardini marbles, the supplier and restorer used by the Vatican for the Sistine Chapel and we adorn some of our rooms with original antique from the Art Decò period. Regarding the supposed noise we are located in the heart of the city, all rooms are equipped with double glasses and highly isolated from the noise of the street. I would like to clarify however that we haven’t received any particular complaint and that if your discomfort was reported to the front desk, we would have taken proper action to immediately solve the situation.

Sincerely yours

The staff at this hotel, especially housekeeping, know what they are doing. Courteous, sensitive, and efficient, with an element of art to their ability to collect and integrate the flotsam and jetsam left by a guest in a bathroom into an organized collection of usable things while one is out at work or play. Big comfy able pillow stuffed bed, Art Deco design evoking the 20s, and an ample breakfast buffet.

Location: what can you say about the v veneto, other than that it is within walking distance to much of the historic old city. Hotel is basically across the street from the US Embassy, which itself has a choice location.

Many fine restaurants within walking distance.

Room Tip: Higher up is quieter.

My daughter and I stayed for 5 nights at this hotel in January, 2014. We had a great time and the hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful. I was disappointed by the fitness center which was wedged into a small guest room. It was really inadequate.

Our room was on the third floor and it was very warm and stuffy. We could not seem to regulate the heat. We resorted to opening the french doors to the outside for about 30 minutes each night before bed to cool the room down.

Breakfast was included with our room and was very delicious. We really enjoyed reading the paper and preparing our days activity over a hot and generous breakfast. The hotel is conveniently located and walking distance to almost all of the major attractions including the Borghese Gallery, the Palazzo Barberini, the Spanish Steps, the Capitoline Museum, etc. We only took a taxi once (to go to the Vatican) in the whole 5 days we were in Rome.

This hotel has a potential to be a perfect hotel. Sadly enough, most of this is being wasted - or at least was during our stay. We stayed for a couple of days in December and were surprised by the inconsistencies observed.
The biggest problem was the temperature. There were two radiators in the bathroom and it was not possible to regulate their temperature. On some days they were "red hot" (but really - it was not possible to touch them for more than few seconds) and created a dry-sauna like atmosphere, on some other days the central heating was off. What is worse, because of the heat it was also too warm in the room. It was not possible to switch the air-conditioning into the cooling mode, and opening the window was not always a solution as it was just next to the bed... The problem did not seem to be limited to our room - the whole hotel (lobby, restaurant) were on few days way too warm. It might be that due to the spa renovation (btw, nothing was mentioned about it in the confirmation email).
The other problem were the smokers - people were smoking in the corridors and the smoke entered the room without any problems.
Finally, the buffet breakfast. How come that in Italy, where there are oranges on trees and you can buy all kinds of vegetables on the markets, the hotel could not get anything better than poor quality tomatoes, tasteless melon, canned ananas and peach? Similarly the selection of meats and cheeses was worse than some 3-star hotels in Southern France / Northern Italy. Really poor choice, unappetizing and dull...

Dear Guest
First of all I would like to thank you for your feedback, your comments are really precious for us to improve our service and ensure your satisfaction.
We have immediately addressed the problem of the heating with our chief of maintenance. Apparently it seems that due to an extraordinary maintenance of the heating system the sensor which reads the temperature in some of the rooms was not set correctly and therefore there was some difference between the temperature set and the actual temperature in the room. Now everything has been set back to normal. About our SPA we plan it to be open by next month, it will be one of the best of Via Veneto with Jacuzzi, massage rooms and treatments, I really hope you will have the chance to visit us in the near future to show you our new luxurious relaxing area. Regarding people smoking in the hotel, our property has a no smoking policy, it may seldom happen though that some guests don’t strictly adhere to our regulations, we apologize for that. We have taken into consideration your suggestions about breakfast, we have changed our setup and improved the selection. Our hotel has been always know for the quality and richness of our breakfast and I am very sorry that during your stay a different impression has transpired. I would like to have the chance to prove you that what you have experienced is not our standard way of operation, we look forward to welcome you back soon as our guest.
Sincerely yours
