I have been to Italy 4 times and always stay in Rome a few nights to relax, walk, and catch up on sleep before vernturing out to other parts of the country. Hotel Canada is the most welcoming place I have stayed yet for my Rome stayover. The hotel is a few extra blocks to the center of town, but I have never minded walking a little extra in Rome. The breakfast was fantastic, with freshly made espresso drinks and fresh-daily pastries, as well as egg dishes, sliced meats and cheeses, and fresh fruit. And the afternoon "snacks" and bar selections were often as good as we could find elsewhere in Rome. These things, combined with the elegance and comfort of the room, ensure that I will stay here again on a future visit.

Room Tip: All the rooms seemed equally elegant.

We stayed at the BW Roma on our way into and out of Italy- a total of 3 nights over two different weekends at the end of September /early October this year. It was a wonderful experience. We had a triple room to allow an extra bed for our daughter. The rooms were comfortable with an "old world" charm. We especially liked our room on our second stay ( on the 5th floor) with the 4 poster bed and oodles of space. The lobby bar/reception area is welcoming with books, maps and generally a relaxed and peaceful feeling. There are free nibblies available later in the day as you unwind with a drink from the bar. The staff were terrific in giving tourist tips and answering questions. The breakfasts ( with real cappucino- yay!) were generous and truly european. We asked for breakfast early on our check out day and a huge tray of goodies was delivered the night before to our room. Being located close to the Termini station ( literally a 10 minute walk straight up a side street from the Marsala exit) and with a metro station around the corner - this hotel is a good find in Rome. Worth every penny.

We enjoyed our stay here. The check in was done well. The room came with the old fashioned key. The key would be dropped off at the reception when we left our room for the day. This was the most romantic room of our Italy trip.
There were a number of restaurants and a pizza place nearby. Very convenient for dinners after tiring days of visiting the attractions here. The pizza was sold by the weight.
We liked the breakfast and the service at the breakfast place - good variety and home made pastries. Yummy!
Easy access to the metro. Be wary of potential pick pockets on the metro. We had two encounters with a group of young "ladies" including one with a baby. Luckily nothing was taken.

Room Tip: Select a room at the end of the corridor away from the elevator shaft and one level above lobby for a quiet and convenient way to walk up and down the lobby without using the elevator. We only used the elevator on the first and last day due to our bags.

The rooms were spacious (we had a triple room) and very elegant. The location was perfect for us, we could and did walk everywhere. Giovanni at the front desk was not only helpful but entertaining and friendly. He made great recommendations for restaurants nearby. This area is full of hotels and restaurants and felt very safe for tourists.

I assume it was my oversight not to have asked for a non-smoking room as the one unpleasant part of our stay was the lingering odor of smoke in our room.

Although we did not partake, it looked as though there was a wonderful cocktail hour with beautiful snacks.

Breakfast was entirely adequate, great coffee service.

All in all, a terrific start to a two week vacation

Room Tip: If it matters to you, ask for a noon-smoking room.

We arrived here in the early evening after a very long flight. We were welcomed warmly. given an overview of the Hotel, followed by a smooth and efficient check -in. We stretched our legs with a long walk in the balmy evening, and enjoyed the sights and smells of Rome. The bar near Reception was very restful. Our room was comfortable, quiet and we slept soundly. Breakfast was more than adequate, with professional service at all times. We look forward to a return visit.

Room Tip: book early
