“good hotel/good location”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in August 2013 and found it very comfortable. The room was quite large by European standards, hardwood floor, mini fridge in room, some tv stations in English, bureau for clothing, window opened up completely and great air conditioning (massive heat wave in Rome that week), bathroom large and clean. Housekeeping daily with clean towels and beds made. There were two elevators, which run slow and only hold 2 people with luggage at a time, and sometimes one of them was inoperable (patience is needed here or take the stairs). They offered a good, FREE breakfast with many options. There was a computer in the lobby to use free of charge if needed and they did have wifi connection as well. The front desk staff was friendly and willing to help with questions and arranging taxi service and the hotel will also hold your luggage. It is just a block from the metro station (takes you right to the Colosseum and the Spanish Steps), there are numerous cafes/gelatarias within a 2-5 minute walk and there is also a laundromat right around the corner if needed. Also a bank, grocery store and pharmacy are within a 2-5 minute walk .Also, taxis from this hotel to some of the tourist locations not easily located by metro were inexpensive. A nice little hotel in a good area. Would stay there again.

Stayed 3 nights in June, rooms old and worn. Air conditioner loud and evidence of mold in shower stall on ceiling. They thrown in a free breakfast which was ok, lots of treats to take and your tours. Front desk staff seem to be put out when asking them for dining or tourist questions. The location is near the train station which is quite simple to get to Vatican and other hot spots. Rooms and hallways need a reno for the cost the are charging for the room.

The hotel is just quick walk from the Termini station (main station) but in a quieter block. There is a local restaurant just next door which is reasonably priced. The wifi was good and worked well in the bedrooms also. They offer full tea/coffee making equipment on request free of charge. The reception responded immediately whenever I asked for anything. The breakfast in the morning was good with a wide variety and always stocked. Airconditioning worked well. I would stay here again.

My brother and I stayed at this hotel July 13th-15th. Check in was good, didn't take too long. Our room was ready when we arrived which was the typical check in time. The room was a pretty good size, but our TV didn't work. The room has a safe which is always great.

We booked a twin room and were located on the 4th floor. The beds were small but comfortable. No complaints. The room was clean, and the shower had excellent water pressure.

The hotel is located 4 blocks from Termini Startion. It was quite easy to walk to. You just exit the station on the side the Mcdonalds is located on the inside, and walk straight about 4 blocks then turn left. If you have large luggage it will probably be hard to roll your bags through the small sidewalks. If you are unsure there are people that stand in the main train station wearing a sign Hotel Help, and if you tell them the hotel they can give you a map and show you where to go. So helpful.

The breakfast was included, nothing special, pretty basic actually. But it's included so no complaints. The hotel staff were okay, they could have been a bit more friendly. The room was really hot when we checked in, so we put the air on as Rome was extremely hot, only to come back from the heat to our air turned off because I guess they decided to turn it off since we were not in our room, so once again had to start all over try to get our room cool. I wasn't too happy about this.

Overall it was an okay stay, I would probably stay again just because the price and location.

We (my daughter and I) stayed here after staying at the BW Hotel Canada, which is around the corner. II am a bit confused why that hotel should be rated so highly (95%, 36th hotel for Rome) while this one is rated as it is (64%, 575th hotel for Rome).

We found the pictures to be a good reflection of the hotel. This hotel had a more modern feel in the public spaces with contemporary furniture and clean lines. We found the breakfast area and selection to be similiar to the BW Hotel Canada.

Our room was a little smaller, with less of an "old world" feel. Our view looked out on residences and balconies. While not really attractive, it was a real view of how people live in Rome, with clothes hung out to dry and plants on terraces.

The air conditioner worked GREAT once I figured out the remote control that controlled it. Probably the best AC we had in all of Italy. It was very hot outside but we were cool and comfortable.

The shower was good - just a little issue since the glass barrier only goes half-way across the tub. You can get water on the floor.

From looking at the hotel's pictures, there are a wide variety of rooms and sizes. You may want to ask or see what type of room you are getting.

The hotel was around the corner and down about a half a block from the Hotel Canada, so any description of how close Hotel Canada is to the Metro stop would apply to this hotel as well. So while it might have lacked some Roman "old world" charm, its contemporary feel and location make it a good choice for a stay in Rome.

Room Tip: Because there is a wide variety of room types, be sure to ask about the room you are getting or ask...

Stayed two nights at this hotel - very easy walking distance to Roma train station and another smaller train station on a different line. Rooms and bathrooms were huge, staff were friendly, parking was easy and the rooms were very modern. Internet was great here too. Not a central location but if you are willing to catch the train it was much cheaper and quieter than the centre of town. Loved it. Second time to Rome - preferred this location and hotel. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food.

Stayed here while on business as the location near Termini and the metro is ideal and the area is quite safe to walk around at night. The check in was fast and efficient and the receptionist was pleasant and helpful, allowing us to store our luggage for several hours after check out. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide choice including cooked breakfast. The room we had (604) was rather small, but clean and well appointed, with good Wi-Fi, air conditioning (which was essential in the summer heat), although I felt the bed to be rather too hard for my liking. Unfortunately, little things let the room down which is a shame. The shower head needed tightening (which my partner did), water leaked from the shower screen making the floor wet and slippery, the bathroom extraction fan was not working and one of the bedside lights was broken. The most annoying thing was that there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and much to my surprise and chagrin, nothing at all in the fridge, not even a bottle of mineral water or packet of peanuts! For a four star hotel, I'd expect each room to have a well stocked mini-bar!!

Room Tip: Ask if the room has a stocked mini bar!!!
