“comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

have just returned from 4 nights staying at this hotel. room very clean, mini bar and safe in the room. breakfast on the 6th floor where you can get a great view of the city. didnot sit outside as too cold. all staff very friendly and helpful. shower is small but you get used to it very near main line station and bus terminal. get the bus from the airport for max price of 5 euros, takes longer than the train but good value. if you go during a busy period make sure that you book the tour for the Vatican museum and St peters church before so that you avoid the queues. do not use the cafe opposite the Vatican museum where you meet as a rip off even for coffee (8 euros for a large cup). go on a segway tour they are a great way to see the city (rex-tours). found 3 good restaurants Trattoria Dell `omo (they only take cash) Numbs in pizza campo de` fiori and Al Balestrari just off pizza campo de` fiori

Room Tip: we had a room at the back of the hotel very quite on the 1st floor

Just stayed for a long weekend in Rome, staying at the Hotel Doria (B+B). Nice little small and friendly hotel, staff very attentive. Rooms are an adequate size if you don't want to spend too long in them, amenities - ensuite, hairdryer, TV, fridge/mini bar and room safe. Breakfast Continental style plus. Close to most of the main tourist attractions, all within easy walking distance. Hotel is located almost at the steps of the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiori. If you like walking this Hotel is ideally situated for the Coloseum, Forum, (15 mins) the Vatican (about 30 mins), Trevi Fountain (10 mins). Would stay at this Hotel again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear overlooking the courtyard may be quieter.

In Rome you can stumble into dirty, crappy, shady hotels..given some buildings are really old and difficult to redecorate. NOT this one though.
It has a nice antique feeling, whilst don't expect super modern facility. The breakfast room with the view, plus a nice terrace was an added value.
Staff were nice and helpful. Given the location and the very competitive price tag, I give it 5 STARS!

10 minute walk to the Colosseum and main train station. Perfect location where it's not too busy not quiet, close to all necessities such as banks supermarkets restaurants etc. Rooms are on the small side but clean and adequate. Bathroom is beyond small, but again usable, but expect to leave with some bumps and scrapes as there's equipment to bang yourself on regardless of your height or stature. Staff on the whole were helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend for anyone seeking a city break.

Hotel staff very friendly with good English. Rooms very comfortable. Breakfast was served in the Roof garden so had good views.
Hotel central in Rome so only a walk away from interesting places. We did most of our site touring on foot so that we didn;t miss anything. There were several bus tours if you wanted to with a hop on hop off service.
Be very wary about pickpockets my purse was stolen after I had only been there for two hours.

This hotel is small and cosy. The positives would be the breakfast on the rooftop with nice views and it's a great way to start the day. The hotel is also very quiet which is good. It's also within walking distance to the main Termini train station which is handy and there is also a supermarket and some resturants very close by. The negatives would be that the lift only fits 1 person and 1 suitcase, so we had to use the stairs most of the time we were there. The shower is so tiny that you can't even wash your hair properly in it as your elbows will be banging into the sides of the shower! The bed is also very firm. The rooms are clean and tidy but definately looking a bit old. Overall, it is an average to good hotel. definately 3 stars.
