Situated in a residential area of the city the Hotel President is in a good location for exploring Rome with Metro and tram stops close to the hotel.

We booked with Jet 2 Holidays and used Rome Cabs for the airport transfers.

The check in at the hotel was friendly, efficient and very professional, check out was equally professional.

Arriving early we fully expected to be kept waiting for our room, the receptionist (apologies I do not have his name) had us in our rooms in no time at all.

We had e-mailed the hotel before our arrival with a couple if specific requests, each of these were in place, always very impressed with that kind of service.

Well appointed rooms, clean and everything worked.

Breakfast was buffet style with a wide range of cold and hot items.

Each and every member of staff we met was courteous and helpful with advice on what to see during our short stay.

If you are looking for a light meal of pizza try Aisha Pizzeria or Il Veliero at the side of the President.

We would recommend this hotel and we would go back.

The room had comfortable beds and free wifi. The bathroom was clean and had a bidet. The breakfast is okay although choices were not as plenty as that of Asian hotels that I'm used to. You only get cold cuts, bacon, eggs, breads and cereals. It's not 5 star level but neither is its price. It's deserving to be rated as a 4 star hotel.

It's walking distance from the train station, san giovanni church and a department store. It's also a short car/bus ride to the colosseum, roman forum (basically that valley where the old city centre of rome was). Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.

Its convenient for the metro station, maybe they can work a little more on the price being a three stars not really a four one...good service and nice breakfast we surely advise everyone to stay in this hotel! The bed was very comfortable and the shower clean and new

My wife and I, and our travel partners stayed at the Best Western Hotel President from October 16 -19, 2013 for our pre-cruise vacation. The location of this hotel is excellent. For us, it was an easy walk to the Colosseum, Palentine Hill, The Forum, and many other locations. On our first day we walked to the train station as we wanted to get our bearings for the next day, when we were taking the train to Frascati, for a wine tour at The Old Minardi Farmhouse -see review. It was a bit of a walk but after the 8 hour flight it was nice to get some exercise.

The Hotel President is older but has been well maintained. Upon our arrival the staff were professional, friendly, and efficient. The one dissappointing thing was that the rooms do not have safes in them. They have safety deposit boxes at the front desk area that you can access though. It would be more convenient to have a safe in the room.

The location is right next to a Metro Stop which allows you to get around the city quick and inexpensively. We used it to travel to the Vatican, and to get back from the train station.

Our room was clean, comfortable, and appeared to have had the bathroom recently renovated. I am still puzzled why they only have half of a door for the shower. Water would always find it's way on the floor. The floor was tile so not too big of a concern, and we always had a towel on the floor when showering.

Our bed was big and comfortable. There was ample storage area in the room with a large closet.

The best part of this hotel is the breakfast which is included. The staff continually monitor the buffet and replenish it often. They are very aware of food safety, as I seen them remove half full containers that had been sitting on the buffet and replace it with new. It was nice to see. Everything was fresh, and the variety was excellent for an included breakfast. The staff will even approach you to see if they can get you coffee or juice, or anything else you may require. We have traveled across Canada, through the United States, the UK, and parts of Europe, and this was the best included breakfast we have had. There was scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, cold meats, cheeses, pastries, bread for toast, cereal, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and several other items. It sure beat the pre-packaged coronetti and coffee we received last year when we stayed in Rome. This was a great way to start our day. The breakfast room is quite large and we never had to wait for a table.

One evening after we returned from our day touring Rome, I went down to the lounge with my tablet as my wife was going to bed. There were a few tables occupied and I made my way to a table for two between the bar and the lobby area where the Internet computer is located. I began checking e-mails. The free WiFi was excellent in the public areas, and also in our room. Another couple came in and sat on some couches across from me. The server approached them and took their order. After about 15 - 20 minutes without being approached, I left the lounge.

We tried the lounge one day for a quick lunch. We had to get the front desk to have an employee come to the lounge. They had free peanuts and chips set out. We had the pizza which was frozen and heated. For a frozen pizza is was quite tasty and filled the void. The service was good.

The hotel has a doorman who monitors who is coming and going. He assisted us with getting our bags up to our rooms.

The two elevators are small but work well. We opted for the stairs most times.

If you ask the hotel to call you a cab, be aware that there is a charge for that service. A normal cab meter starts around 3.1 Euro, where it started around 7 Euros when we had the hotel call the cab. It is not advertised in the hotel but my wife asked after our experience.

Clean, comfortable, excellent breakfast, great location. We were very pleased.

Room Tip: Ask for a room towards the back. The street in front of the hotel is quite busy. We followed the tips from previous travelers and enjoyed a very quite stay.

This hotel seems to be pretty busy. Still, we were never disturbed in our room. The staff at Reception were very pleasant and helpful.

The room and bathroom were very clean - and the buffet breakfast was very good, with plenty of attentive staff. The bathroom appeared to have been totally refurbished fairly recently - to a very high standard.

The mattress was new and of very good quality - and gave a good night's sleep.

The hotel is right next to a subway station - fairly close to the city centre, yet not in a noisy neighborhood.

A pleasant 2 night stay.
