I recently stayed and the Hotel Cesari in Rome and I'm writing this review by way of warning. My experience was both good and bad, the bad being of a nature that I'd not choose to stay here again.

First the good:

The location is fabulous, It's just a few steps off the via del Corso, in the direction of the Pantheon. So, it's also close the the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the ruins of Ancient Rome. The pedestrianized street gets lots of foot traffic, but the double-paned windows do a good job of shutting out the noise.

I had limited contact with the staff, other than checking in and checking out. I found the people friendly and helpful.

I booked a "superior" double room. The room was quite large, with a sitting area in the corner, where windows overlooked the via di Pietra and the Piazza di Pietra. Some of the furnishings, the wardrobe in particular, looked as if they were original to the building, dating from the late 18th century. The remainder of the furniture was reproductions of a similar style. The king bed was two twins pushed together. I've found this to be the case in most hotels, even 4 and 5 star, in Italy. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The room itself was spotlessly clean.

The wifi internet connection was free and fast.

Now the bad:

Breakfast was indifferent. They serve the worst cappuccino I've ever had. Fortunately, La Tazza d'Oro is just a few steps away and I could get a great cappuccino there for 1.10 euro.

At first view, I thought the bathroom was merely old, tired in need of gutting and re-doing. There was just a shower stall without a bathtub. The shower appeared to be clean, until I got inside and closed the doors. Then I could see all the mold that was hidden from view when the shower doors were opened. Obviously, it's hidden from the housekeeping staff, so they don't clean it. Maybe I'm too fastidious, but this really revolted me. I won't stay here again, nor would I recommend it.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your review on our Hotel.
You have shown our strenghts, which are the reasons why many other people, from all over the world, choose our Hotel for their holidays in Rome.
We regret its negativity, and we would speak, in the first place, about the cleanliness of the bathroom.
As you wrote, the room was clean and spotless so it is clear that on the cleanliness of the barthroom, there is a lapse on our part, which we apologize deeply.
As for breakfast, we try to provide the best example of Italian breakfast, with fresh, dairy products and top quality. Among these, the coffe, supplied by many years from Tazza D’Oro.
Generally breakfast, the roof and our staff are the strenghts of the Hotel Cesàri, and we are very sorry that you did not seem them appreciated.
We do hope however, that may change your mind and return to the Hotel Cesàri in the next trip to Italy, as our most welcome Guest.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Cinzia Farias

We stayed at Albergo Cesari Hotel in February 2013. The room was clean, breakfast on the fifth floor was satisfactory. Trevi fountain is only two minutes walk away, Pantheon three minutes, Piazza Navona six, Campo di fiori eight minutes away. Location is wonderful for tourists.

This hotel has the best possible location for sight seeing in Rome. You can walk to all the major sights. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was decent enough to give you a good start to the day. Desk personnel were pleasant and helpful making reservations for dinner or giving directions. Our room was a superior twin and was very quiet. Wifi was dependable. Super close to Pantheon and Trevi fountain. Would highly recommend and would stay there again for sure!

We stayed at the Albergo Cesari in December 2012 in a triple share room and the hotel lived up to all our expectations.Room comfortable for three, very clean and quiet. The breakfast plentiful with many options even for the fussy eater. We used the airport car transport available through the hotel for collection and drop off to the airport not the cheapest option but a welcome sight after a 26 hour flight. All major attractions within walking distance and the reception team very willing to assist with directions and advise on things to do in Rome.Would not hesitate to stay here again if visiting Rome.We booked this hotel via their own website as it was the cheapest option.

After travelling to Rome for my first time I stayed in this hotel and I can hardly fault it the staff were amazing especially camillio ( bar staff ) he was very helpful when it came to booking dinner reservations and an overall friendly genuine person the rooms were clean and spacious. The wifi however was a little slow and at times hard to receive signal but there was a computer in the lobby that could be used at any time , would defiantly stay there again !

We had a fantastic time at the Albergo Cesari in October 2012. The location of this hotel is fabulous, five minutes to the Trevi fountain, a few minutes to the Pantheon, we walked to the Vatican but this took us about 45 minutes. We also walked to the Colosseum which was a great visit, even though it poured with rain. All the staff here are wonderful, very happy to help, the breakfast each morning was fantastic, fresh fruit, pastries, lovely coffee and the usual continental cheese and meat, you must get out on to the amazing roof top terrace for breakfast or cocktails in the evening, we were there at the end of October so it was quite cool in the evenings but there is a patio heater that keeps you very warm. We aBook this hotel you will not be dissapointed.
