Excellent location to walk and explore Rome. Decent rooms, fun little hotel, nice breakfast, decent price. The central location close to everything is absolutely wonderful. Only minor complaint, the wifi passwords are unreliable as I found in many places... ah well. The rest of the experience is highly recommended.

First time to Italy, first stop Roma...and what a wonderful place to start our journey! The staff were polite, helpful and couldn't do enough to help us find our way. Mother and daughter travelling together and unsure where to start - but staying at this hotel was such a wonderful experience would most certainly come back again!

This is a great location for a hotel to explore Rome on foot - mid way between Vatican and Borghese Museum, a stone's throw from Trevi Fountain and a short walk from Pantheon and Spanish steps. The hotel is old fashioned, and a rabbit warren of two adjoining buildings. Our room 574 was small but clean, and on the top floor where it boasted a balcony as large as the room with fantastic views. Our only gripe was breakfast: the tea and coffee were truly disappointing - but we may have been unlucky. We traveled in by Leornado Express and taxi from the Termini station - but back by taxi - at 50 Euros was worth it for the speed and convenience.

Room Tip: We upgraded to superior room which may mean higher and so away from the noise of the road and with a...

Hotel regno room 132 with stand on balcony was of average size, very clean basic room. stocked mini bar, air conditioned. The toilet was large but the seperate bathroom with over bath shower was small. But as we were out sight seeing all day was mainly used for sleeping in which was adequate for us. All the staff were helpfull and friendly with directions, maps and bus no's. Although the regno is on a busy main road, the windows shut out all traffic noise. The only fault was there was no tea/coffee maker which would have been so handy especially in the early morning when your tour leaves at 6.30am and breakfast doesn't start till 7. We did offer to hire one, but couldn't.
The regno is ideally situated within walking distance of the colosseum, Trevi fountain, and the spanish steps, with many eateries, shops, and buses right outside the hotel making it very handy to get about. Would recommend this hotel as a good base thats central and close to everything.

Room Tip: ask for what you want in a room when you book

My wife and I have just returned from a three night stay and we had the most wonderful time at the Hotel Regno (25th-28th January).

Getting there - We took the Leonardo Express Train (14 Euro pp, one-way) from Fiumicino Airport to Termini and then caught the Number 175 bus from outside the Front Entrance of the train station. This regular service delivers you to about 50 metres south of the hotel's entrance. Could not have been more straightforward. Getting back to Termini, you simply cross the street and pick up Bus 175 in the opposite direction.

Welcome & Check-in process - Siro greeted us at the Front Desk and he really is a credit to the Hotel. He was charming and welcoming, and ensured that we immediately felt at home. He helpfully explained where all the major sights were located and provided us with a Map which we used throughout our visit. I also thank Siro for his patience with my poor attempts to speak Italian.

Location - Perfect. I would challenge someone to find a better located hotel in all of Rome.
1. Turn left at the front entrance. Walk 10 metres to the crossing. Cross Via Del Corso and walk along Via della Muratte for 3 minutes and you are at the Trevi Fountain.
2. Turn right at the front entrance. Walk about 300 metres south and you will reach Piazza Venezia in 5 minutes.
From here, turn left and walk for a further 10-15 minutes along Via dei fori Imperiale and you are at the Colesseum and the Roman Forum.
Alternatively, turn right at Piazza Venezia and you will will reach the River, and then the Vatican in about 20-25 minutes.
3. Turn left at the front entrance, and left again after 10 metres and walk along via di Pietra and you'll be at the Pantheon in 5 minutes.
4. Turn left and walk north along via del Corso and you will arrive at the junction with via Condotti in 10 minutes. The Spanish Steps are visible at the end of the street.

Our Room - Our room, 220, was beautifully furnished with an outlook onto Via del Corso. It was kept immaculately clean by Housekeeping and the Towels and Bed Linen were of top quality.
There was a room safe and a hair-dryer, along with a fridge in the room. There are also larger, superior rooms if you need more space, but ours suited us perfectly fine.
Breakfast was included, and consisted of Cereal, Juices, Breads, Croissants, Yoghurt and fresh fruit along with your choice of Tea or Coffee. The Caffe con Latte was excellent.

Summary
This was our first trip to Rome and a great choice. We have stayed at many similarly graded hotels in other European capitals, but Rome and Hotel Regno is by far the best.
Yes, the location, the room and breakfast were all excellent but by far the greatest asset of Hotel Regno is the staff.
Sincere thanks to Siro, Francesco and Rosa at Reception (and others - I'm sorry I didn't get all the names), to Housekeeping, to all the great staff at Breakfast (especially the gentleman who made our coffee each day).
All the team at Hotel Regno helped make our stay very memorable and very special.
Thank you.

Room Tip: If you need more space, Superior Rooms are available at a supplement. We had a standard room, which...

I have been wary of relying on reviews and read a few negative ones about this hotel but I must say my family and I loved it. We were in Rome in mid January 2013 and had 6 nights the Regno. We walked everywhere. No need for any transport. Plenty of close restaurants close but look to the old part of town with no tourists. Staff at hotel great. Spoke English well. Very friendly. Brekkie had plenty of variety. Cereal, toast, pasteurise, cold meats, cheese tea and coffee. Plenty of shops close by. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: Request a room with a balcony. We overlooked the restaurant which didn't worry us.
