“Great Hotel and right next to Vatican”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

This hotel is less than a 5 minute walk to the vatican and perfect for touring.
The rooms are nice, great A/C, great staff and just an overall comfortable visit
Many great restaurants around to walk to (less than 5 minutes - 2-3 blocks).

Perfect time and we had 3 rooms w/6 adults - no issues at all for any of the travelers.

Room Tip: If you want a view, be sure to get on the 7th floor, but you can see the Vatican from the front door...

Staying three nights in this hotel, we found the room to be spacious and comfortable and a good value. Eating in the dining room at breakfast three times and once in the evening, the food was good, but not stellar. As for location, you can see St. Peter's from the street by the entrance and it is only a two block or so walk. Also, we found the Wi-fi access to be very difficult. Having stayed at many hotels during a two week trip through 4 countries, it seemed inordinately difficult to access the Wi-fi - taking an hour or so to work through the access procedures the first time and then having difficulty each time thereafter.

Great location overlooking the Vatican. Fantastic concierge with vast knowledge of the area and places to visit. Nice bar with great biscuits served with coffee. Breakfast was a great selection and staff very accommodating. Very quiet and peaceful surrounding. Very modern rooms and refurbed to a high standard. Very festive due to time we went. Free wifi in reception which was a good signal.

Agree entirely with Gill228's very favorable review below entitled 'Easter in Rome' -- would only add we found it to be the nicest close hotel to the Vatican available so there is a need to book early if any Vatican events are scheduled that you wish to attend. The breakfast room is sunny and ultra modern and very adequate selection. The rooms reminded us of deluxe cruise ship staterooms with their convenient closet systems and very functional design. The beds were awesome and the views from the small balconies or windows were especially dramatic of St. Peter's dome at night! Car parking is available and we didn't drive during our stay so we relied on taxis once we arrived until we left. Area around Vatican is also a little safer and quieter than into the city of Rome. So if Vatican and its museums is a priority for a visit, or if you are looking for a nearby quieter and safer location for Rome itself, this hotel is ideal and highly recommended.

Our trip started off quite badly. It was my mum's birthday, we arrived the night before and found that my brother and I couldn't get into our room, while our parents room smelt of drains. It took an hour for the staff to move us to different rooms, and at this point it was gone midnight and my mum was welcoming in her birthday standing in a corridor.

To be fair the rooms we were moved to were really nice, much more modern than the ones we'd originally been given, even if they were smaller. They were just what we wanted; clean, modern, and comfortable. This is the ideal city/business hotel. The breakfast was excellent, and it's super close to the Vatican (we could see St Peter's Basilica from my parents balcony!

A great hotel if you're travelling on business, but definitely not a hotel for special occasions.

If you want to centre yourself near St. Peter's, then this is the place. We didn't necessarily want to base ourselves here but we got a great deal for three nights, so things worked out well. It's a modern hotel but that's no bad thing. Everything was fine, but the bar closed a little early. The breakfast buffet was the biggest I've ever seen and the food was good. The general standard of food in Rome is high in my experience.
If you want high end, Rome has got it. This hotel is a good standard for the traveller/pilgrim who doesn't need to appreciate the architectural grandeur of his bedroom in a city stuffed with marvels.
Try to visit St. John on the Lateran. The bronze doors at the west end were commissioned by Julius Caesar for the Roman Senate!

stayed for 2 nights last week ,mainly considering proximity to Vatican City .Recently refurbished rooms seem very poor quality, does no justice to advertised photos at all.Staff rather cold and noted staff rather rude to other clients .No milk provided in rooms ,when asked for it was told have fresh milk and option of collecting some from restaurant or having it delivered at cost of 5 euros!Air conditioning was turned off at night with excessive roadside noise on opening windows.Poor quality breakfast . certainly does not deserve 4 stars!
Far from other sites in Rome.Buses-route 64 very busy and not very frequent.taxis expensive,Metro rather far to get to
