stayed at the regent twice during our holiday and had 2 different experiences. First room was quite spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom but what would seem to be the worlds smallest shower. Also a very oldschool wallpaper approach which was interesting.
The second room we had was a lot smaller and not so comfortable although the shower was larger.
Breakfast was good, especially if your a big croissant eater. The only hard part is finding out which one isnt filled with chocolate, so i guess thats not really a bad thing.
Wifi worked well but was only in the lobby, this was common all through Italy though.
Access to the city was very easy using the old metro line, so being out of the city walls wasnt a big drama.
Overall nice place to lay your head for a night.

Room Tip: get up high in rooms facing the street to get some view

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a week long tour with Mistral. The hotel is very nice, bedroom was clean and tidy but there was no view to speak off out the windows unless you liked looking at other hotel buildings.
Some of the staff didn't seem to be interested in their guests.
We hadn't booked evening meals at the hotel as it was a set menu of a pasta dish, meat dish and desert. No choices but cost 20 euros. There are limited restaurants in the surrounding area so you would probably need to use the nearby train station to travel only 1 stop to the Piazza Del Popolo for a wider choice as well as to go shopping.
There are a large number of taxis in the area. We were advised that cost to travel to Piazza Del Popolo would be about 10 to 15 euros while traveling into the centre of Rome would be 20 to 25 euros (approx. 20/25 minute journey) Watch out though as some of the taxi drivers double this price.
The surrounding streets at the hotel are congested with parked vehicles and the noise from the car horns can be a bit excessive all day and night. We were on the eight floor of the hotel and could still hear the noise right through the night. However for a city the size of Rome this was to be expected.
Take care at the hotel as a member of the group we were travelling with had her handbag stolen from outside the front door of the hotel at 8.30am (distracted by one well dressed male while another well dressed male stole the handbag)
Overall I would probably pay more and book a hotel nearer the city centre in future

Clean and well managed hotell with boring rooms. Located somewhat away from central Rome, but both buses and metro is available close to hotel. Grosery store is next to hotel. Not many restaurants in hotel area.

More groups than individual clients. We stayed in the 4th. Floor. Small bathroom , but well preserved. No proper wifi in our room. Important : Mattresses in good condition = good sleeping quality. Maria, the front office manager, is a good 'old school’ professional. Breakfast room is impressive. I totally agree with other reviewers : this hotel claims a total makeover.

Room Tip: Ask for a restored room

Good value, rooms were mediocre. Had no view. Service was friendly. Free wifi in the lobby. Bar service was good. Overall, a good experience. Just be willing to accept a dated hotel. And it is a drive to the heart of Rome.

When you think about enjoying a great hotel in the Eternal City , I am sure this hotel comes to mind.It offers you excellent lodging facilities, friendly staff , prompt reply to what ever you need. Futher more it has a useful bus connection to Termini bus terminal ( route 901 that is at a 3 minutes walk from the hotel).
