“Best value for money”

I have read some previous reviews and realized that the hotel has Improved on a lot of things pointed Out by previous occupants. Perfect location, waking distance from everything there is to see in Rome: ruins, monuments, shopping. Good rooms with foxtel tv and all neccessary fixtures. Good breakfast included in the total price, absolutely amazing breakfast room with decorated ceilling and murano glass light fittings. Highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again on my next visit.

Location
The location was the main positive of this hotel. The Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum are both a short walk away, and Vatican City is about a 40 minute walk away.

Rooms
The rooms and facilities were clean, but dated, and the hotel is on a main road, so traffic can be heard at all hours in lower-level rooms. Our air-conditioner did not work, but in April this was not a major issue. The safe is not in the room, but behind the reception desk, but we were not charged for using it.

Breakfast
The breakfast was sufficient, if not very varied, and came in very useful, as many places near the hotel do not open very early in the mornings. It mostly consists of "continental"-style buffet (meat, cheese, croissants, cereal etc.), with some hot food (scrambled eggs and bacon/sausage).

Staff
The staff in the hotel were extremely helpful. We arrived at the hotel a lot earlier than check-in time, and were fully prepared to wait around, but they were very accommodating and found us a room straight away. They were also very helpful with directions to nearby attractions, and local restaurants, and gave us a map to help navigate around the city.

Other points to note
The room keyrings are extremely heavy! Usually, I just carry my room key out with me, but in this case it was much easier to leave it at the front desk (like you're supposed to, I guess...). The lift is also comically small (reflecting the age of the building), and it was a squeeze getting two people and a suitcase in one go.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a lot less traffic noise from the main road outside. The windows are pretty thin!

Hotel very well located but definitely not a 4-star ! The rooms are average with tiny bathrooms and the breakfast is only OK. Service however is very good with very friendly staff always smiling and willing to help and giving useful information.

Location superb: access to ancient Rome, Central and Monti areas within minutes walking. The staff is established and was throughout courteous, cheerful and could not do enough for us. We have no Italian language and that was no barrier at all. This is an old hotel but a lovely breakfast room with an adequate morning meal. Rooms are fine. The elevated position means you need to be reasonably fit to get about. The position on a busy road means inevitable noise, so try and get a room high up or not in front.

We had a most enjoyable stay over Christmas and recommend Traiano.

Room Tip: Avoid being near steet level especially in front

This was the 3rd time my fried and myself stayed in this hotel on photographic trips to Rome. The location is excellent, only a few minutes walk to sight like the Colosseum, The Trevi Fountain, Pantheon etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and last, but not least, it`s excellend value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room, and they will give you a room facing the back yard or the street behind the ho...

Nice Hotel 200 years old and handy location to view all historical sites.Rooms are for showering and sleeping so location is ideal.Hotel supplied a great map better than any books you can buy here Rome expensive be prepared to spend money out there, two adults budget 120 euro's a day, lots of walking so comfy shoes needed.
Rome not the cleanest of places and food not the greatest either. Great Bar Cin Cin bar just down the road. Annoying Indian fellas at the Trevi fountain wanting to take photos a polite no thank you is enough, shops selling lots of tacky rubbish so save your money pick something nice.Do your own thing out there not with the tourist guide this will slow your day right up this way you are free to do what you want,

Room Tip: Room was fine sleeping and showering, on the 3rd floor so no noise
