My wife and I stayed here in early April and it was perfect. The neighborhood is quiet but only a few blocks away from the Coliseum. While checking in we were provided a map of Rome and Michael spent at least 30 minutes with us going over the map and answering our questions. I booked a suite with a view of the Coliseum and it was totally worthwhile. Our room was lovely with a sitting area and spacious bathroom. The best part though was the terrace. The view of the Coliseum from the terrace was breathtaking. We had a lovely dinner at the hotel with the owner and her son and it was nice to chat with them about their favorite things in Rome. We also had breakfast in the morning and it was fantastic. All in all, after spending our days running around hectic Rome, it was wonderful to be able to come back to the peaceful calm of Hotel Lancelot.

Room Tip: Booking the suite was well worth it.

If you are thinking about staying at this hotel, don't hesitate, book it. We have just spent 4 nights there celebrating our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. They actually had their wedding breakfast there in 1963 and we were delighted to find it still open ... what we didn't realize when we booked was what a gem this hotel really is. It has everything you would expect from a good family hotel and more. It is run with great taste and loving care. We stayed half board and enjoyed the generous varied buffet breakfasts and delicious leisurely dinners. We cannot thank Mrs. Kahn, her family and staff enough for the wonderful memory they created for us on the night of our parent's anniversary (swans will always have a special significance for us now!) This old world, elegant hotel is in an excellent location, serves delicious food and is staffed by warm, caring wonderful people. We loved every minute of our time there!

What a find! A short walk from the metro in front of the Coliseum, and a perfect location for any transportation. We had a lovely room with a balcony in front -- very spacious, clean and charming. Breakfasts were wonderful, with plenty of choices and fresh items. Dinners, if you choose to have them, are affordable, and every bit as good or better than good restaurants. Lovely little patio away from the street for drinks and unwinding. Comfortable lobby, sitting rooms, etc. But the best of it all was the staff -- totally accomodating, knowledgeable and pleasant. The family run hotel, is clearly run with great "heart". We enjoyed interacting with the proprietor and her son immensely. The suggestions for siteseeing made all the difference for us. Thank you to the Khans, the owners.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in front of the hotel with a balcony.

What a gem of a hotel. Perfect location with a warm, welcoming amd accommodating staff. Convenient to the historical aspects of Rome - a stones throw to the Colessium. The hotel offers complimentary wi-fi. When we refurn to Rome, this will be our hotel pf choice

We stayed as a family of 3 (lad is 13) for 4 nights at start of April. The location of the Hotel is near to the Coliseum so it is ideal to get your bearings. We stayed B&B and had no complaints at all. We got an ample size room with corner balcony and the bathroom was tight but adequate. The breakfasts were very nice with everything needed and it was nice to share and chat with others on a morning. It's a great base/location and we did guided tours with "Roma Experience" who provided everything we booked....on time. The guide was Francesca when we went to the Colisium/Forum and on our Vatican/St Peter's tours, she was brilliant and so good as a guide. We wouldn't hesitate to go with Roma Experience again. We booked the 'Hop on-Hop off" bus, we booked the 'green' bus that only went via stops every hour (which was our own fault), pick a company that stops every 15-30 minutes at each stop to save you time waiting. It was good value for 48 hours though. We also used the Metro which was easy and cheap to use but is a short line.We found Rome easy to walk round (we do like walking) and easy got round the City following the Hotels free paper maps from reception. We were eating locally on an evening as we were shattered after walking all day, a good local restaurant to the Hotel is "Na Macha", which is a two minute walk from hotel. We went there twice and food the food (pasta, pizza etc) very nice with lush wine and very good service. The last thing I want to comment on is the Hotel staff, they are all lovely, friendly and extremely helpful. We would defo go back to Rome and stay at this Hotel again in the future, thank you x The Rileys

Room Tip: a great base to see Rome with very friendly staff. We got a corner room which was fine for us.
