“Welcoming hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013

Spent 5 nights here in the past week as a group of friends. Owner and staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are compact and the shower would be a problem for very large persons.
Breakfast is hearty as described in the hotel literature and we enjoyed 2 dinners at the hotel which comprised good food with complementary wine and good company.
Hotel is in a good location 5 to 10 minutes walk from the Colosseum. Don't miss the church of S. Clemente which a 5 minutes away. This is a beautiful medieval church with the remains of a 4th century church below and a pre-Christian temple and Roman house below that.
Would definitely stay here again.

I've just stayed at this hotel on a business trip, I couldn't fault it in any way - at the end of the road is the colosseum and nearby are some lovely restaurants which are very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean and had everything we needed! There is a nice area to relax too with sofas, and good choice at breakfast :) I would love to return to Rome and would definitely stay at this hotel again :)

Could not be better. Great tasteful atmosphere. Great location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Everything is arranged to help you feel at home. Great location very close to the Coluseum and public transportation. One night we ate at the hotel and the dinner was very good and since you were seated with other guests, the entire experience became friendly and social in a very pleasant way. This hotel was recommended to us by friends and I am only too glad to pass the recommendation on to others.

The Hotel Lancelot is in a great location, close to many attractions and just around the corner from two of the best churches in Rome (San Clemente & Quattro Santi Coronati). A friend and I had a really good experience here (despite both getting sick!) and were warmly welcomed whenever we entered the lobby. The Khan family and their staff are really friendly, helpful and happy to give suggestions. Breakfast was filling, but, unfortunately, They were refurbishing the kitchen while we were there, so we missed out on the communal dinner - a disappointment to both of us. Definitely a place to return to!

Hotel Lancelot is a great little family-run hotel. Nothing five star about the rooms, but it is comfortable. The location is just blocks away from the Colosseum and several minutes away by taxi to downtown Rome and other sights. Hotel staff are friendly and very helpful, they gave us great suggestions for restaurants in and around Rome. When one of the lights in our room was broken accidentally by my daughter, the owner was incredibly calm and made a joke to ease any tension. We will never forget their kindness. Their breakfast was A+...generous portions of bread, fruit, cheeses, yogourt, etc...we ate like kings every day. I would not hesitate going back there again.

Over the years, I have met many wonderful people at the Lancelot Hotel and it has become a tradition for us all to meet and participate in the wonderful New Year's Eve party organized by the Khan family. The very festive atmosphere in the hotel, the beautiful nativity scene on display in the bar area, the entertainment provided, the extremely delicious dinner (so many courses!), all contribute to making New Year's Eve celebrations at the Lancelot a truly memorable experience. At midnight, we watched the fireworks over the city from the 6th floor terrace and then it was time to head to the disco in the basement where live music was provided by a very impressive trio. As always, the staff did their utmost to make our stay a pleasant one, we had a comfortable room, a comfortable bed and a choice of pillows, delicious breakfasts and evening meals. Needless to say, our group will be meeting there again in December 2013.
