Located in the heart of Rome, this historical building houses incredible architecture and historic religious heritage. Both inside and outside architecture is magnificent. The dome is incredible. Be respectful inside. It is busy. A great place for tons of photography opportunities.

This is an incredible building both inside and out. Worth the wait. The listed opening times in the guide books are only really a rough guide. When we were there they had a church service going on. They closed to tourists for an hour (during the service), then reopened afterwards staying open well-past their posted opening times. We got in after dark, but I think that the eye would be best appreciated in the daylight, so go really early in the day (remembering the time to queue).

Very beautiful and amazing building. It’s a wonder how it was built. The marble floors still very whole and interesting how they have holes in them to drain the rain coming from the hole in the roof. Totally worth the visit.

Our guide was extremely informative, entertaining and passionate about the Pantheon. Well work taking this tour in order to understand the history and architecture of this building which would be missed if visiting alone.

Lovely architecture inside, took no time to queue, and it was free.
A must-see in Rome, and a good atmosphere around the building outside too. Very beautiful!

The Pantheon appears from with a myriad of small side streets, and the first thing one notice (besides crowds) is the imposing temple like entrance with 8 giant columns supporting a triangular shaped roof front.

I believe the Pantheon was once a roman temple but is now a working church

Entering the Church you immediately look skyward towards the large hole in the roof (oculus in the cupola). How did they do that and why? Well the answer can be found on the audio visual machines available and it’s fascinating.

When you neck eases out, a stroll around the inside perimeter will reveal many frescos, paintings, statues, side alters and the monuments to kings Victor Emmanuel, 1, 2 and 3, and the tomb of King Umberto I and his wife Margherita di Savoia.

For the culturally minded person these art works are really magnificent and deserving of respectful study. I suggest an early visit and relaxing in the church pews.

Its a engineering wow factor as well as beautiful. Remember NO roof supports and when it was built will astound you.

It is by far the best preserved ancient structure in Rome. It is centrally located in the middle of all Rome’s major sites. and is jaw dropping in its scale.

And of course, IT IS FREE!

One tip, it is worth going right when it opens in the morning before the masses arrive and guards are continually saying “shhhhhhhhh”.

If you happen to be in Rome when it is raining, seeing the water pour through the oculus while you are inside is truly a unique experience.
