If you live in Rome or if you are staying in Rome for vacation or business this is a place you should not miss. Larys is centrally located in Salario-Trieste district and just few blocks away the famous Via Veneto. Larys is run by Mario and Larissa and it is a great Italian restaurant with marked Russian influence brought by Larissa. We have tried several one-Michelin-star restaurants in Rome and Larys is offering food, wine and service that is similar, if not not better, than already star-qualified restaurants. We visited this restaurant a few times and we were always impressed by its food quality, wine selection and attentive service. And price is very reasonable given the quality and quantity you get. The menu is very large in all its sections and you can choose between fish and meat. We tried mainly fish (salmon caviar is simply outstanding as well as lobster) but also meat is delicious. When it comes to wines you'll find here one of the most comprehensive wine lists you can find in Rome. The list is so long and well articulated that we just recommend to ask for Mario's advice and follow him. You won't be disappointed! (we just drank tonight, following his recommendation, a very fine De Silva Sauvignon from Peter Solva producer in SudTirol that was outstanding). We would also like to drop a comment about the place. Larys is located in a very quiet street on the side of Via Po and it is very elegantly furnished. Tables are covered with white linen tablecoathes and wine and water are served in crystal glasses. Last but not least: if you happen to be Russian or have a passion for Russian food just call them one or 2 days in advance and they will prepare for you some of the traditional Russian dishes, besides the caviar and vodka that are available here at any time. In summary, just outstanding!
