It was an amazing tour. Our guide Gigi went over and above the usual. With 7 years of experience he sure knew how to guide us and skip the lines. The sights are amazing and even though we were skeptical of the museum part (not such big fans of museums) it was incredible. Then you are lead into the Sistine Chapel all the while Gigi gives more information about the history and competition between Rafael and Leonardo. We waited no more than 10 minutes from arriving at the meeting point until the tour started. Highly recommend this tour!!

Raffaele tried his best, but the overall pace of the 3-hour Vatican tour was just too slow for our group. The first hour was wasted with the logistics of getting in and allowing people to use the restroom. Then we spent far more time than we would have liked in the long map hall. We ended up ditching the tour shortly thereafter and moving at our pace. At least we still got to use the tour group shortcut from the Sistine Chapel to St. Peter's Basilica. I booked the tour thinking it would be a speedy way to see the highlights, but it just was not what we expected.

Interesting experience inside the Vatican City Skip the Line tour - Lots of ticket re-sellers and guides around the entrance. Stay focus and follow your guide closely. Lots of tourists at anytime, especially inside the Sistine Chapel where it's supposed to be quiet and no photography.

Tips - Try to go for the first tour of the day. Spectacular view from St Peter's Basilica.

We recently took our 89 year old mother to Italy to see Vatican City and the Sistine Chapel. We were lucky enough to have Marta Palombi as our tour guide. She's Italian born, but speaks excellent English. She has a history major and spends her free time touring the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel to enhance her knowledge of the artifacts and art collections and provide a different perspective for each individual tour. She was a lovely young lady and made our three hour tour one of the most special experiences of Rome. I hope to go back to the Eternal City one day and have Marta tell me the stories of the other famous landmarks. She was truly amazing.

We booked the Semi Private 3 hour Vatican Highlights tour for the morning and the Private Ancient Rome tour for the afternoon with this same company for the same day. The agent assured us we had enough time to do both with a 2 hour break for lunch between. We had no break.
We paid for early access and skip the line. So did everyone else. Met at 8:30 and finally got in around 9:30. Ava was wonderful and we thought she did a great tour. Having said that, though, by the time we got to St Peter's Basilica we had no time to spend in this magnificent building as we had to grab a taxi and get across the city for our 1:30pm meet up time for the next tour.
There, we met up with Rosella who informed us that our reservation was actually for 2pm and we had a few minutes while standing there to gobble down the bun we had purchased from a snack bar.
We spent the next 2 1/2 hours walking, standing in the Colisseum. Incredibly interesting but definitely too long and stretched out. We felt that we could have got the info in an hour. I had a big problem with our guide's flippant, giggly delivery of the gory details of the activities in the Colisseum.
Then we headed to the Roman Forum. By this point we were so tired and really could not take in or appreciate what we were hearing.
We actually all decided we'd had enough and ended the tour just prior to her ending it.
We would not recommend these tours unless you love minute details of everything you see and we would definitely not book them on the same day.
