“A Borgo gem”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Il Papalino was recommended to us by our B&B host Guido Zucchelli and we were not disappointed. We ate lunch here and then the following day had dinner, both were very good. Our waiter Antonio was professional, very friendly and certainly knew his job. We had the pizza for lunch, and his recommendation of fettuccini with porcini mushrooms for dinner was perfect.
If you are in this area of Rome I highly recommend that you stop in and eat where the locals do.

“AMAZING!”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Well we knew we were in the right place when we stumbled on this restaurants and saw priests entering for lunch. Also next to our table a private Rome guide and her morning clients were dining. We figured if the guide is dining here it must be good. Lasagna al Forno was one of the best we have ever had. Great wine list. Wait staff accommodating and friendly. If you are traveling with children, great choice as well.

“Best pick on Borgo Pio”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

Just to the side of St. Peter's is the street, Borgo Pio. In a neighborhood filled with gift shops it is a street of family run restaurants. I have eaten at many of the establishments but IL Papalino has always been my favorite. Whether outside in inside in one of the large dining areas. The food is good and the atmosphere is wonderful. My latest trip as soon as we left the Sistine Chapel we headed directly to IL Papalino. Wonderful food great location and good price.

“Final Pizza”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

Not far from St. Peter's is Il Papalino nestled nicely on a little side street. It's our last day in Italy, and we have already consumed many pizzas throughout our trip. What is just one more?! It always helps to see others dining and enjoying the fare, and this place was filling up rapidly. Our last Margherita pizza was exceptional and we bid a fond farewell to tastes not experienced here in Stati Uniti. Great little place. Go if you find yourself hungry after touring Vatican City.
