We had a skip the line ticket which is worth it because the line was sooooo long for everyone else. We only waited about 10 minutes and were in. I had a Rick Steve's audio walking tour downloaded to my phone which helped to understand all that we were seeing. If you don't do that, it is worth getting a group guide. They are outside trying to sign people up so if you don't do it in advance, you can still get in and hear more interesting things about the history and area.
