Although history has degraded what was once the greatest arena of all times, and there's barely a few travertine stones from the original monument due to centuries of pillage, the colosseum will not let you down... I would recommend to take one of the guided tours offered outside, as you can skip the line (which can be ginormous) and get super interesting explanations on a thousand things by someone who's used to use the history-professor tone. It will cost you just a few bucks more, and it's absolutely worth the price!

you cannot miss this marvel of the Roman empire, I took the full tour of Colosseum and Palatine (including the underground and upper deck!) If you go to Rome and miss it you haven't been in Rome

A must see in Rome... A structure built around 1900 years back for games... Gladiators use fight here in this Amphitheatre...We took a guide tour, Which is divided into two parts.. First for Coloseum, and second for Forum...Part of incredible history...

This famous"ruin" is well worth the visit. Your ticket includes the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Don't bother with 'Fast Passes" (yes, not only theme parks, Folks) because the queue moves quickly. The atmosphere inside fuels your imagination of what life must have been like all those years ago. Worth spending a ggod few hours in total.

Booked via TripAdvisor/ Viator- skip the line tour - group was about 14 people - must be able to walk long distance and climb stairs - we loved visiting the historical site - the tour was good

Amazing view, totally worth it to pay for Colosseum and Roman Ruins. Need to expend all day long though. The audio guides could be better

We were a group 4 people. The tour was a small group around.
Our tour guide was Luca he was very funny, friendly  knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour.
The meeting point was easy to find, just follow the instruction that comes with your booking information.
Don’t miss the chance to skip the line - took us few minutes to get into Colosseum when the regular
lineup looked to take hours.
Definitely would recommend to anyone who is visiting Rome.

We got the 'skip the queue' pass and although we still had to stop at security, which took 10 mins, we gained access through the gladiator's entrance and walked straight past the very long queue at the front entrance. The tour guide was amazing and brought the place to life with all her knowledge and stories, highlighting key aspects of the colosseum we would have missed on our own. The children enjoyed learning about the gladiators and seeing the main arena up close. It really is such an amazing place. If you are thinking of visiting, pay the extra money for a skip the queue pass and avoid the long queues in the heat. The ticket also enabled us to enter the Roman Forum free of charge.
