This is another must-see of Rome. It's very crowded day and night (we were there twice). It's a bit lost in the winding streets, but you can hear the fountain from rather far because of the mass of water falling there. The most important thing is to watch out your bags, as theft is so common in packed areas like this. And I would say - go there twice - to see it at night and during the daytime. It's beautiful. If you make it through the crowd you'll come up close enough to sit down and just watch people around, it helps after long walks around the city. And of course - time for miracle :). Don't forget to throw the coin into the water. The trick is - stand with your back to the fountain and throw the coin with your right hand and over your left sholder. Another "legend" that I was told is as follows: one coin - to come back to Rome, the second coin thrown - to remain in Italy, and the third one, single ladies attention! - to marry an italian. Time will show how true this is :).

The fountain is beautiful & I recommend to visit during the day & night. The area is very busy, but worth it. This place is really close to the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps, so you can easily get around to them all.

Anytime of day is appropriate for a visit, although the nighttime is likely to have the most crowds. The fountain is one of Rome's gems, of course. There are seating levels in a semi-circle in front of the fountain that provide a wonderful view.

The Trevi Fountain is not far from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Signs at all three locations will direct you to the others.

A Stunning thing to see, hidden away amongst the buildings - but certainly takes your breath away! The craftmanship that went into creating the fountain is something to truely marvel, so much detail and so much to look at in one little place.

Definatly very busy in this area, so don't be surprised for crowds, and sellers!

Most importantly, don't forget to throw a coin in and make a wish!

My youngest daughter had read about and then became facinated by the Trevi Fountain. When it was her turn to pick a vacation destination the first words out of her month was the Trevi Fountain.

We only had a week in Italy and we had a schedule pack with sites we 'had' to see and the very first night we were in Rome we dined in an open air cafe in the Piazza di Trevi. We must have a hundred pictures.

Watch out though with the 'natives' offering to take your photo for you with your camera. They want to charge you for it and if they can get away with it will hold the camera until you relent!

I highly recommend Rome and you must add the Trevi to your tour...if only for a short time. You will be amazed especially if you are there at night.
