This is one of the more predominant structures you see walking to the Vatican over the Ponte Umberto bridge. The castle has been many things over the centuries starting off as a mausoleum and ending as a museum. The price is $15 euros to walk the entire structure with a few painting, old armor and weapons. Really the price of the ticket is the view from the top. You can see all of Rome and a great view of the Vatican. Worth the price and the visit.

This is an excellent site. With a great cafe half way through the tour. The app is brilliant and highly recommended!! you need a good 2-3 hours to visit here.

Very impressive from the outside, but also lots to see inside and well worth the admission price. Everything from displays of armour and arms, to lavishly decorated apartments, wall paintings and statues - and everywhere there are fantastic views, not least from the very highest level of the castle. So many historical periods represented in this one building that has served as everything from a tomb to a prison to a fortress to a palatial residence. Don't miss it.

Castel Sant’Angelo was a beautiful sight close to our hotel which was centrally located. We enjoyed the castel in the day, and also at night. We took a dinner river cruise on the Tiber River, which was wonderful. We had a delicious meal, music and enjoyed all the beautiful lights of the city on the river.

This is a great castle. It’s right by the Vatican. I think the best time to go is when it’s sunset. Amazing castle. They have art work, furniture from that time period. The castle is amazing. Great for pictures. Once you on top of the castle you will have a 360 view of Rome and St. Peter’s basilica. I really enjoyed this and they also have a coffee shop inside. You will spend about 1 1/2 to 2 hours here.

The castle has an amazing view in many aspects of Rome. Also, you can see a collection of armors and weapons they used. The road inside the castle makes you feel like you were there centuries ago. If you want there is also a restaurant inside with perfect view, but I don't know it's quality because we didn't try it.

Download the tour app and take your headphones to save reading all of the information. We were lucky enough to grab a suitable table in the terrace bar (only about 4 there), this enabled us to eat and drink whilst the sun set over the Vatican- beautiful! The lovely waiter even offered to take photos of us at dusk

This is a historical fortified castle which was originally a mausoleum. The rooms are beautifully furnished with art collection, exhibits and relics. It is not far from the Vatican with panoramic views from the terrace. A great place to enjoy lovely sunset views.

Out of all the places I visited in Rome, this was my favourite. I believe the entry fee is €15 per person but if you are from the EU and aged 18-25 you get it half price, so make sure you have some ID on you!

There is so much for you to explore and the views of the Vatican are incredible. Such a beautiful, historic building.
