Excellent location, literally beside the Pantheon, and close to many good restaurants, a good deli, what some say is the best coffee shop in Rome, and gelato shops. It was never far away when exploring the main sites on foot, so it was very convenient for rest stops. The public areas of the hotel are elegant. The roof top patio/lounge (private for guests only) was a real bonus. Foodie alert for the breakfast--all the usual suspects on offer for a European boutique hotel breakfast, but the quality of the ingredients was exceptional (best mozarella we had in Italy--who would have expected that?). Service was excellent at the front desk.
We stayed for one night in the mini-apartment, which was good value for our family of four. It was a charming retreat at the back of the main floor of the hotel. A bit different. Had a long dining table that was surprising useful. The apartment was fairly large (two levels). Had a small kitchenette. No views at all (which we knew before we booked). A bit dark. The bathroom was fine but the ceiling needed repainting. If we were staying longer, or if Rome was a central part of our vacation, we would have looked harder at the the view rooms facing the piazza. But as long as you know what you are getting, the mini-apartment can be fun, and it was for us.
