“Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Rome”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

We stayed at this hotel at the recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed. We had a room that overlooked the Pantheon and the Piazza. The view alone was worth hours of entertainment. The rooms were clean, the bathroom updated...very pleased with the room. We loved the large window that fully opened so that we could watch all of the activity below. The staff was very attentive and helpful with taxis and restaurant recommendations. They also helped us with our reservations for dinner and tickets to the Vatican...definitely first-class service. The rooftop terrace was not open because it was out of season; but we enjoyed the view from there on our own...also enjoyed a drink at the bar on the first floor before dinner one evening. We really enjoyed the location. We walked almost everywhere....the Pantheon being somewhat in the center of sightseeing. The train station is definitely a taxi ride since the Rome is quite large. Breakfast was an Italian breakfast, which we loved...and we were able to get a pot of american coffee at the table!! When we get back to Rome, we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else!! We are so thankful to our friends for the hotel tip!!

Room Tip: Be sure to get a room with a view of the Pantheon.

We stayed here for three nights in one of the smaller suites as there were three of us. The layout of the suite worked really well for us as there is a sitting room between the two bedrooms. The roof top terrace bar was closed as it was too early in the year, but you could take your drinks up during the daytime and watch the activity in the piazza below which was really nice. Location was perfect and about midway between the Colosseum and Vatican city. Lots of nice restaurants in the side-streets nearby, and a good selection at breakfast in the hotel. Service was superb, as were all the staff in the hotel. Booking a Limo in from the airport was also a nice treat and the driver we had had pointed out a number of things we may have missed otherwise. If coming to Rome again I could not think of a better place to stay and would book Albergo del Senato

Room Tip: We had 502 which seemed to be on a floor on its own so nice and quiet, no view from the private terr...

We spent two nights here at the end of an Italian holiday. There were four of us (2 adults and 2 children ages 14 and 11). I had a difficult time finding accommodations in Rome that could fit all of us during this time frame. I ultimately chose this hotel due to its location and positive trip advisor reviews. Location is fabulous--easy walk to Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Colosseum/Forum, and the Pantheon is always a lively scene right out the hotel door. We stayed in a 5th floor room which was larger (bedroom, separate sitting area, then another area with a sleeper sofa for the kids). It did not have a Pantheon view but we were aware of this when we booked. Service was good/helpful. Breakfast was included and adequate. Bartender was very friendly & informative. Housekeeping did a nice job. The rooftop bar wasn't yet open for the season but we were still able to take drinks up there and enjoy the view. I would definitely stay here again.

Our family of four with two teenagers stayed in the loft suite (quadruple). We loved it. Service, breakfast, location are exemplary. We felt like we were in dream land (like in a movie). We would walk around the beautiful city and stumble upon the Pantheon Piazza and the hotel is right there and we would walk in to our own sanctuary for a quiet night's sleep. The cab driver knew the hotel right away and did not need any directions which made us feel very comfortable. No view for the quadruple room but we did not care even a bit. Like someone else wrote in the reviews - bathroom plan is odd, so each family needs to come up with their own plan for efficient use of the facilities.

I had read the reviews of this hotel and thought it must be worth the money, but I think it is overpriced. The good things are it is in a great location and yes the view of the Pantheon from the room is great. The rooms are nice and well equipped and the roof terrace is a lovely spot in the sun.

However, I think at the price they charge I would expect more. For instance we visited in April and the air conditioning didn't work and after informing reception (twice) they said it was centrally controlled and that although we were too hot the heating couldn't be turned off so the room was 25 degrees through the night. We also informed them (3 times) the wifi didn't work in our room but no one seemed to know what to do and instead we could only use wifi outside of our room (not ideal).

The hotel is an average 4 star with a good location, not that great. I think for the price you pay I would expect more than you get.

Dear Sir / Madame,
Thank you for taking your time to write a review on our hotel. We always read all reviews and do go through the details when a complain. I have verified with the maintenance and he had nothing notified regarding a termostate broken in any room in the beginning of April and neither in the end of March. Almost all of our rooms have a termostate where you can switch on and off the air directly from the room and if you are unable to do it from the room we can always manage it from the computer at the reception.

During the winter heating works in the rooms and in the summer airconditon. When changing weather conditions we provide to set the system for the coming season. You are unable to have heather in the summer time as well as aircondition during the winter.

Regarding the WIFI it can happen sometimes the the the system is blocked but with a simple reset it start to work again. If you don’t mind I would like to receive some more detailed information regarding which will help me to understand if there is something that does not work.We have not have any complains the last weeks from our guest using WIFI in their rooms, except for short moments, resolved at once.

At the end I would like to inform you and all future guests that we are a 3 star hotel and not a 4 star hotel even if nowadays the stars not always give the real value.
.
With Kind Regards

I think pretty much everything has been said before in other reviews. Absolutely stunning location, wonderful staff, just an all around joy to stay here. I highly recommend this hotel. So glad that we picked it, and hope to one day return!

Room Tip: I loved ours (room #407). Corner room looking right at the Pantheon.

My mum and I visited Rome for her birthday. We were very lucky to stay at this hotel. First of all - fantastic service, fantastic! What's more - great location minutes from the most interesting places in Rome. Clean, nicely decorated, perfect hotel for a sightseeing trip. Modest breakfast but lovely coffee. Will definitely stay at this hotel next time we are in Rome.
