“Piazza Venezia with a view of the Forum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

This piazza is at the foot of the Capitoline Hill. The square is large with an ornate white building at the centre. To the right of the building (we nicknamed it the Christmas cake!), there are 2 sets of steps. Walk up the set to the right, go straight ahead across the square at the top and drop down the other side. There is an absolutely fabulous view of the Roman Forum. If you go back to the square, there is a museum, which is well worth a visit. You can also go to the top of the white building via a steep set of steps and the view from there is marvellous. On Sundays the main road to the left of the Piazza is closed to traffic so you can stroll around easily.

“Grand & marvellous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

A very lively square. I would say that this piazza is the center of Rome. Situated at the foot of the Capitoline Hill, it is walkable from almost all major tourist attractions like Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Roman Forum etc. The square itself has a huge space and the white building at the center is just grand. The building (called The Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland)) is not the oldest compared to the other "BC" dated architectures in Rome but its just beautiful and magnificient to look at. As per wiki, this is the largest monument in white marble Botticino (Brescia) ever created. After Colosseum, I would rate this as the best tourist attractions.

“Big with Amazing View”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2014

Walking from piazza del popolo via del corso, will lead you to piazza venezia. Standing there you will see the statues and the enormous space and will love it. we even entered the museum and it was nice (build recently in the 1900 era).

A great place to sit and just marvel at all the structures. Like someone mentioned bring your gelato or sandwhiches.

“Great buildings”

Hosts the best architecture in Rome. Good rendezvous and landmark too if you want to get places or find your brings because tis close to everything and you can see the buildings within it from far away. Good for photos too.
