Piazza Venezia is a major circus and the central hub of Rome, Italy, in which many thoroughfares intersect, like Via dei Fori Imperiali and Via del Corso. It takes its name from Venice ("Venezia" in Italian), after the Venetian Cardinal, Pietro Barbo (later Pope Paul II) who had built Palazzo Venezia, a palace set next to church of Saint Mark, also nearby, the patron saint of Venice. Palazzo Venezia was the former embassy of the city of the Republic of Venice to Rome.

“Spectacular Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2013

If you are staying in the area you will probably pass by Piazza Venezia many times, the view is equally good in the evening as it is in the morning. There is a major bus stop nearby and the road leads to the Colosseum and the forum. There are a few restaurants but all of them are very touristy.

“Great photo backdrop and major bus stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

After passing by this several times, we finally walked to it and made some nice photos using the beautiful architecture of the white marble and black statues. This is also a key hub for most city bus lines and an easy place to find a quick taxi.

“In Love”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

Won't even lie, I'm just in love with Rome, city of magic and Lemon granita....Piazza Venezia is WARM but so atmospheric and right central, so you can see everything and it looks so....italian, to avoid sounding like a stereotype lover, but i do love a stereotype, it makes the city real

“See a lot quickly in one place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013

This is a key location to see and get to many sights to include Capital Hill, the Roman Forum, Colosseum and the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II. We enjoyed it because we didn't have time to go into every place, but got a great view of them. Very busy and crowded with lots of street vendors.
