Went here after visiting the Colosseum, and found it very relaxing to walk around - there aren't as many visitors as other major attractions and there is very little background noise from cars etc. Really enjoyed this as it was nice to just relax and 'bimble' around, taking in all the old ruins and buildings.

This is such a LARGE area! Be sure to bring a map and guide with you for this place. So much to see and no directional signs. The info signs are translated from Italian and not very helpful. We loved this place and could have wandered all day, but wished we had more info!

I loved just wandering around and looking at all the ruins as well as stopping when you get to the top of the hill to appreciate the lovely views of the city.Buying a combo ticket here also means you get to go in a much shorter queue to enter the coliseum.Theres plenty of benches and places to sit so if you have the time bring a picnic and have a relax.

Even Though it was raining cats and dogs on the day i visited, Palatine Hill was my favorite attraction of all Rome. Take your time and make sure to read about the place before if you are not planning to get a tour guide. If you are going to visit Colosseum and the Romans Forum on the same day I suggest buying your ticket from here. It is far less crowded comparing to Colosseum entrance and you get a very nice view from the hill to the Colosseum too before going inside, also great city views. The Museum is a great compliment to the old castle. But you have to pay separately for it.
Like all other attractions I recommend being there the hour it opens up if you are a traveler and not an average tourist.

Visited this immediately after the colosseum and the views from the hill give you a sense of what ancient rome would have been like all the ruins of basillicas and temples including that if Romulus.
A great place to just take a step back away from all the busy traffic and just embrace Rome for what it is a place of endless culture
