If you like all Ancient Rome then Palatine Hill is not to be missed. The vastness of the building and ruins I’d spectacular. If you can get in Elizabeth’s tour from City Wonders you’ll love it.

This is a quiet area but steeped in history. We took a tour which included the Roman Forum and Colosseum. Wear proper shoes as there is a lot of walking over uneven surfaces.

We took a tour thru Gartours our guide was very good. To think back to the era of the Roman Empire and to see what they built is mind blowing. Their detail and the size of their buildings is amazing. If you are doing the Colosseum then pay the extra money and go on a tour that includes the Forum and Palatine Hill you won’t be disappointed

This is lovely area to wander through if it is not too hot. Lots of history and a quiet corner of Rome.

We did this tour with LivItaly, in combination with a tour of the Colosseum. Be ready to walk. ALOT! The views are well worth it, and our guide made the place come alive!

We really enjoyed this area because of the insightful information provided by our guide from Walks of Italy. Without a guide, you would miss out on so much of what you are seeing at this ancient place. With the guides help, you can use your imagination to better understand the significance and history of this area of Ancient Rome. There is a place to fill your water bottle on the moderate walk up the hill and a clean bathroom at the top near the Museo Palatino. You might be tempted to skip the Palatine Hill when you’re headed to the Roman Forum, but don’t skip this incredible area. Again, to make the most of your visit, hire a reputable guide or join a tour group such as Walks of Italy. You’ll be glad you spent the money afterwards.

We toured the Palatine Hill with a Tour company (along with the Colosseum and Forum). Recommend doing this with a tour guide. walk through 2000+ years of history and the formation of Rome. Must do - and then go from here to the Forum

We went with a tour group that included the Colosseum/Palatine Hill and the Forum. A huge time saver and then you can explore on your own when finished with the tour group. Very worth it.

The commercial, political and religious center of ancient Rome, which features the Arch of Septimus Severus, Temple of Saturn, Arch of Titus and the House of the Vestals. Palatine Hill overlooks the Roman Forum one of the most amazing sites in all of Rome. From the top of this hill you can see Coliseum and Ciro Massimo.
Get tickets in advance if possible for the Coliseum tour and don't throw your ticket away (good for 2 days) as it also covers Palatine hill and the Roman Forum.
There is lots of walking (wear good shoes) and bring a water bottle that you can refill.
An absolutely amazing place.

The place is huge! Didn’t have to cue for long and started with a walk round the south of the hill. There is a lot of walking so wear good shoes. There are water points throughout which is good because I can imagine in the summer months the heat would be unreal as there is little shaded areas. It was really interesting and awe inspiring. A must see for those interested in ancient Roma.
