“first division sculpture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

I found the museum (actually it is so badly signed and the hotel maps are so inaccurate that we very nearly gave up) to be literally sensational in its sculpture. it is difficult to decide on which is most memorable but i would vote for the bronze of the boxer dating from the 1st century BC with the veiled statue of Augustus coming a close second.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

The best museum of antiquities I have been to in Italy. I will be going back again. 10 euro for adults and 6.50 reduced rate. if u are under 25 with an EU passport you can avail of the reduced rate. Amazing collection of coins throughout the centuries of Italian history too.

“Great Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

This is the place to see great works of art. The Egypt artifacts are the best I've seen outside the louvre in Paris. The gold coin exhibit in the vault of the basement are some of the best in the world. You will see some of the best sculptures in the world.

“Roman History at it's Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

This excellent Roman Museum has many Roman and Greek sculptures which bring life to the grandeur of the Roman Empire. This is an old 17th century palazzo beautifully restored and updated to a very high standard. There are numerous original Roman statues and copies of Greek statues that are well displayed and not crowded together as you see in some other museums. This museum is part of city museums system that let you visit 4 museums for 10 euros over 2 days. Don't miss this museum if you have the time while in Rome !
