“Lovely place... friendly host”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

As mentioned in other reviews, Villa Paganini is in a good and clean neighborhood, with a lovely park nearby (we only saw one). There are many buses passing by the area, so it won't be a big issue to commute between the Villa and any place in the city even if you are not in the center - just asked Neelam and he can help you with all the bus information. We also saw a supermarket nearby which is about 1 to 2 bus stops from the Villa. Vatican Museum is about 40-minute tram ride, not 20 minutes as other said as there were many stops along the route, and you should notice the name of the tram stop so you wouldn't get lost on the way back like us! People mentioned restaurants around the place, as Neelam did, but we couldn't find one except the posh Villa Paganini Restaurant (which looks like a village restaurant) but the place was closed on the night we meant to have dinner.

We had to change rooms on some nights and finally stayed in all three rooms - all were very clean and bright despite they are on a small side. Other guests who shared the same floor and pantry were all good, quiet and polite, so we didn't experience any problem.

Breakfast included (jam-coated) croissants (as the Italians only have sweet pastries for breakfast!), sandwiches, tin biscuits, yoghurt, cereal and also fresh cooked eggs (as you want) prepared by Neelam. This was incomparable with other places (like B&B in France, Belgium, or even in Spain and the UK) as this is Italy but it was much better than all other cities we stayed during our trip in this country. It was a nice touch that the owner stocked some juices, coffee and tea in the pantry for all guests.

We asked the owner to book the taxi for us from and to the airport at a very reasonable price. You may have to pay much higher if you call a taxi by yourself as the traffic was terrible and there were lots of scams!

All in all, we had a lovely stay.

Room Tip: We had to change rooms on some nights and finally stayed in all three rooms - all were very clean an...

Villa Paganini is a gem. We enjoyed the location, which is quiet and beautiful. But what we will remember most is the warm attitude of Nilam and Antonella, the owner, who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. During our stay, our daughter celebrated her 16th birthday, and got a homemade cake and candles, plus a lovely present from Antonella. Thank you, Antonella and Nilam, we shall always remember our stay in the pretty Villa!

Room too small for comfort. Bathroom shampoo, conditioner were large bottles used by previous guests; not acceptable.
Our breakfast consisted of prepackaged pastries (one taste only was enough) biscuits in a tin, & the aforementioned grilled cheese. There was yoghurt. Coffee was a definite miss.
Never met the owner, who was there.
Grounds are lovely.

We are sorry that our hospitality has not met your expectations.
We treat the breakfast, the croissants are bought each morning from the best provider of the neighborhood.
we also offer biscuits "Gentilini" the oldest factory in Rome, served in the boxes of the factory, recently re-proposed on the market and greatly appreciated.
proposals are also homemade jams or purchased by the Sisters Trappiste, because biological.
in addition to eggs, toast, yogurt.
The coffee is italian coffe
as you know, there is always at guests' disposal, fresh fruit, juices, coffee and tea.
It seems to us sufficient for a B & B

Couldn't have been more pleased with this place and the staff. It laid the foundations for a great stay in Rome. The owner brings fresh croissants in the morning. Nilam cooks eggs and toasted sandwiches and makes lovely coffee for breakfast; he puts out a great spread. Self service including cereal and fruit available always. Nilam is happy to help in any way possible with information and does such a thorough and loving job looking after his guests.

Villa Paganini is an easy ten minute bus ride to most of the monuments.. and twenty minutes to the Vatican. It is set in an quiet, elegant residential area surrounded by parks. Nevertheless, there are great restaurants within walking distance.
And the personal attention provided by the owners, and especially by Neelam, made our stay a memorable one.

My wife and I stayed here with friends for 5 nights. The place is in a great location with gated grounds near a great little park and about a 20 minute bus ride to the centre of Rome. The place and grounds are sectacular, the rooms are new and clean but the staff are what makes this place extra special. Antonella & Philippe are very friendly and helpful. Neelam was a prince as he served the best breakfast ever!! Antonella was just a great host and their B&B deserves the highest rating.

A little more than two-weeks in Europe, we finally arrived in the eternal city, and a little tired. But we were immediately embraced into this peaceful and beautiful B&B. I guess travelers choose this B&B for a reason - when you walk out, you are in a friendly neighborhood where local kids play football in the park and older folks sipping coffee at the local cafe along the street. That's what we wanted at the end of our trip.

The room was beautiful and well attended to. It was really nice speaking to the owner Antonella. Neelam was of great help to us. I really enjoyed chatting with him in the morning and he attended to all our requests.

Great stay in Rome.
