“What fountain!!!”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

I had visited the fountain before but my friend had not - what a disappointment. Where was that lovely flowing water that I had dipped my hands in and thrown the 'three coins' in to ensure my return? The fountain was completely closed and boarded up although you could see through the glass. Well you could see all the scaffolding around the statues - it was a great shame and I felt so sorry for all the American visitors - at least we had only travelled from England. Work has to be done but why do it in peak tourist season - could have been planned much better The area around the fountain is lovely and nice to wander around but my heart sank when I saw it was closed. Well there was a small part where you could throw coins into a container so obvious the government still wanted the income. Don't do it. .

“Still closed”

The fountain is still closed, great idea to clean it during tourist season! We went at the very end of June.

“Beautiful Fountain but not in a great area!”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

I had been looking forward to seeing the Trevi Fountain but was somewhat disappointed. It is beautiful but the surroundings were not. Cramped in around loads of tacky shops and it was heaving with people.... Lots of people selling stuff too. Yes, I think it's a must see, but I would not hang around.

“Wonderful fountain!”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

But sooo crowded and many beggers and lots of pickpocketers. So crowded we did not even get a proper photo of the place. During night it is a very beautiful place! Worth visiting nighttime or very early morning.

“Beautiful spot”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

My sister and I visited Trevi Fountain on a busy day. It was packed with tourists. The sound of the water falling was just so relaxing and the water was really cool, just right for dipping hands into. Nice restaurants around the area and quite near the Spanish Steps. Just watch your bag though.
