Owner description: Certainly the most famous and photographed fountain in Rome, legend has it that whoever throws a coin into the pond will return to Rome.

When in Rome do as the Romans do, go somewhere else.
Kidding ....
Ofcourse one must visit Fontana di Trevi !!!! Its Historical, cinematic, and actually quite beautiful.
Then only thing that you may or may not find weird is that its TINY. When watching Audrey Hepburn dine across the fountain in " A Roman Holiday" or rather sit in the Piazza, I was expecting this fountain to be Gigantic. How wrong I was... Small , quaint but still stunningly beautiful The fontana di trevi is still worth a visit ... As is the amazing Gelato stores adjacent to it.
Beware of Pick pocketers ( so they say) even though we felt perfectly safe...
Steps away are the Spanish steps and the buildings surrounding the fountain is so adorable... Down the Road is my favorite store to visit : Rome's FENDI store gorgeous!

where to begin this was my daughters dream to visit since she was a little girl after seeing it in so many movies and we both went for her 21st birthday, we went the last weekend of Jan so off peek but still was very busy during the day but was quite at night which was wonderful, we were both so amazed at its size we must have over a hundred photos we we stayed very close at the Oxford hotel so we used the Trevi Fountain as a base in total i think we must have went there 8 times over the three days we were there, it is just stunning far bigger than I ever thought it would be, so much detail on every part A Must if you visit Rome some great little gift shops in the surrounding streets and some great stores a couple of streets away. We both felt it looked most beautiful in the evening where it came alive with all the lights, cant wait to go back and share the beautiful place with my husband x

This is pure spectacle and despite the tremendous crowds you get it all seems to be very good natured as visitors, lovers and the world makes it way to capture the magic and the moment at the probably the world’s most famous fountain. Yes, there can be dodgy people there but the sense of fun and sheer energy speaks of a very positive and benevolent world. Has the myth and magic of Fellini’s Dolce Vita infected us all with optimism when we go there? Who knows but it is such good fun. Just enjoy the whole crazy spectacle.

Had seen it many movies - lead cast making a wish by throwing a coin in the water. And then it came alive for us....like a dream come true. the approach to this place was not as we had expected. Had to cross a lot of narrow lanes to reach here. but once we reached it was amazing. A lot of people (mostly tourists) were gathered around the fountain. there was a buzz about this place. the architecture was amazing. over the backdrop of roman gods was this great fountain. we sat there, letting the cool breeze and water splashes taking us to another eternity. A must visit place for everybody visiting rome.

The Trevi Fountain was an absolute highlight of our trip to Rome. Ok, yes it is beautiful. The carvings are much bigger than I thought. I also loved the rough, natural-looking rocks around the outside with their own water falling - reminding me of a rocky beach. And yes, it was fun throwing coins and taking photos here. And yes, lovely ice-cream for the children. Yes, yes - very crowded, full of tourists. But what made it for me was how happy all the tourists were. As if they had all wanted desperately to come here and were glad to see it. To sit for a few minutes and chat and smile for the photos. The buzz was really up-lifting. We avoided those trying to take our money for photos, and we visited the church next door for a moment of peace. On Valentine's Day there was a wedding-couple posing for photos; I doubt they minded the crowds because children and adults alike were so happy. We visited 3 times and just marvelled. Go there. Be happy.
