I was taken to this restaurant as part of group. Lovely place hidden away from the tourist trail but so close to the main attractions. We had a very decent meal with lots of good wine. I loved the lasagna with truffle. Certainly a place to go if you want to get away for the hussle of the busy streets of Rome. Also very friendly and funny host. They certainly understand that dining is not only about good food but also great hospitality.

This was recommended by the manager of our hotel, what a delight, friendly staff, lots of locals eating there, which is always a good sign, we even had a guitar player to serenade us! Food was delicious with a good menu, wine good too, pirces not silly and we all felt we had good value, this is a place we would visit again.

January 2013 ... going out for dinner with my friend Daniele Bellini when he told me: "... I've been to a great restaurant somewhere near Piazza del Popollo years ago and we must find it ...". Well, we found it easily and the experience was fantastic. Great food/wine, great value, a great singer named Mario Mio. That was Rome for sure. Words can't describe such an excellent food so go to Rome (all the roads lead to it) and taste for yourself ... and take a look at the pictures/video ! (closed on Sundays)

Went here for my Birthday meal on first night in Rome. Booked in advance on their website. Friendly staff , good local food and wine. Unusually they had a smoking section at the back of the restaurant and you cold occasionally tell but service was quick and the food tasty although portions were not the largest.
To top the occasion there was a guitarist and singer playing throughout and he came and sund happy birthday to me at the end of the meal - a nice touch

Last year we dined here twice and the service and food were always outstanding. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted warmly and shown to our reserved table (we made reservations through our concierge). The four of us chose a red wine and flat water to start.

Then came the enormous amounts of food. We figured order a lot and we'll all share. First came the Antipasto which at Osteria St. Anna its an entire meal. We got Fava beans, chickpeas, cannellini beans, eggplant caponata, and proscuitto. We also ordered a proscuitto and melon. Outstanding!

For second courses we ordered the Carbonara (unfortunately it was a little too al dente), the risotto with porchini, gnocchi with mussels, and the lasagna. Comforting!

For the third courses we ordered the Veal Saltimboca, Oxtail, Caprese salad, mixed vegetables, fried artichoke, and the highlight of the evening were the Meatballs with truffle sauce.

Ending the meal was complimentary Limoncello and Anise biscuits! Perfect! We got all of this for $138 euros. Can not be beat!!!
