If you're looking for a way to spend an afternoon in Rome that captures the food and spirit of the place while expanding your culinary repertoire and skills, consider an afternoon cooking class at Le Fate. Andrea is an exceptional teacher and Chef. We learned the techniques that are required to take the Flavors of Italy home with us and had an incredible lunch in the process. Their emails were so helpful and it was very easy to sign up. The price for the class and the group size (12 people) seemed reasonable. Once at the class, we were taken under the wing of Chef Andrea who taught us to make fantastic appetizers (Fried Artichokes), pasta from scratch (fettuccine with asparagus and pancetta), Beef Straccetti, and chocolate soufflé. It was the ideal mixture of hands on time with socializing. The food was unbelievable and we enjoyed learning about Rome through Chef Andrea. Thanks to the recipes he emailed us, we've recreated his dishes back home.

First of all Chef Andrea rocks! Anyone can learn to cook and anyone can teach you to cook but to have someone teach you and who loves doing it that's a gem. It was a great and delicious experience. We learned so much during that day about the how's and why's of Rome cuisine that it made eating the meal so much more enjoyable. And ...don't forget the wine, he picked the perfect compliment to each course and again with great explanations of each wine. When we come back we will definitely do it again to learn more recipes and history. I cooked as soon as we got back into the states but sadly it did not taste as wonderful as it did that day, maybe because we didn't have 8 others and Chef Andrea in our kitchen. Thx Sunil and Jill

Roma is without a doubt a beautiful city; there is culture, heritage, architecture and history everywhere you look BUT it can become too much after a couple of days. So, take time out and do something different. Chef Andrea will re-invigorate not only your love of food but also your love of the city. Complacency can overcome you when surrounded by so many beautiful things, step away and try something different, you'll go back to it with fresh eyes.
You must book this course well in advance, there is a reason its so popular.
Chef Andrea is infectious and by the time you walk away from the course you will make a plegde to try all the dishes at home - and you WILL. I am not one for cooking but the difference between shop bought stuff and the real mccoy is vast and none of it was complicated.
The day starts at 10 with an introduction and the plan for the day. By the time this is over, you'll be chomping at the bit to get started. We had a great group which made the day even better. I got stuck in with the Tiramisu (oh what joy!) and then by the time we were done we had 4 fantastic dishes to look forward complete with the wine for each course.
Thanks Andrea for a memorable and fun day and for helping me discover there is passion to be found in cooking if you know what to do and know that simple is sometimes the best. Hope to see you when you have your new cooking school open.

I decided to take a cooking class after very good reviews on Tripadvisor.
It was absolutely something to remember. The Chef Andrea was a star and he made us experience a real taste of Rome.
Wine tasting was a great idea as well.
Remember you don't need to have any cooking skills at all to participate in the cooking class. You will be surprised how good your skills are with a little support from the Chef.
