We stumbled upon this place while looking for a different restaurant. It appealed to us as it seemed very authentic and not at all touristy. We were (at that time) the only English speaking customers in the restaurant. The food was amazing! The beef tenderloin was perfect! Great wine too and reasonably priced. It's one of those hidden gems and we compared all our meals for the remainder of our trip to this restaurant.

This place is excelt for a pit stop along the curtural exploration in central rome. . Even they have no outside seating availableit's decor is authentic italian and a very good ambiance. After being asked if they make their one pizza, they showed us the kitchen and even allowed us to spin the pizza dough.

In our visit to Rome we ate there 3 out of 5 times, every time different meal. all were excellent!
the food was in a nice amount, very tasty. we didn't even needed to add salt. from all the restaurants that we visited this was with no doubt the best.
the service was kind, pleasant and effective. we really enjoyed the service and the company of our waiter Alessandro. a very nice man, with a lot of knowledge about the history of Italy and about the Italian food. he made our stay fun and magical.
in short, good food, good location, good service and good price.
if you are planning to eat there give our best to Alessandro.

Seven years ago, I stumbled upon this restaurant. My first dinner in Rome. Seven years later, in August 2013, it was my first dinner intentionally. It's located just a few minute walk from the Spanish Steps on an obscure street, so small it's not shown on the tourist map. The have a small simple menu, reasonable food and wine prices. A wonderful cozy interior, friendly staff and delicious food. Started with fried zucchini flowers, stuffed with cheese and anchovies, breaded and fried. A perfect appetizer to share. Entrees we had - fettuccine bolagnese and stewed rabbit. The house chianti is fine, but you can order from a wide, reasonably priced selection of wine by the bottle, carafe, or glass. We visited on another night for a light supper of pizza. A large pizza, thin crust, fresh toppings, light on the sauce. A wonderful meal on a hot August night. Complimentary lemoncello served at the end. Just perfect. Enjoy!

We stumbled upon this restaurant on the walk back to our hotel, and it was delicious, unpretentious, and hospitable. I highly recommend it.
