When we told some friends about planning to go to Rome we got a recommendation to come to this restaurant. Not quite in the touristic area of Rome, but well worth the effort of going there. In fact... After enjoying too much of Rome's Gelateria's, :-D we decided to walk there, because we wanted to walk through Trastavere anyway. After walking for a while we were actually doubting whether or not we were in the right area. The area looked a bit industrial, and when we finally arrived at the 'Citta del Gusto' (the building this restaurant is housed in) we really doubted if it was the right place. We pressed on nevertheless and we were very glad that we did. After taking the elevator to the top-floor we were pleasantly surprised. Especially the view from the outer rooftop area of the restaurant was a nice panorama of Rome, unlike we had seen before in any other spots of Rome. And the brilliant food and wine kept us entertained for a long time. Thanks to the weather we were able to sit outside for the entire dinner, which added to the atmosphere.
All in all a very nice place which is not yet too familiar with tourists, which is a shame, because it is definately worth a visit, but on the other hand it might make it even more attractive to visitors, since you don't get the crowds you sometimes get in the bustling city center.
