I picked this restaurant because of lots of locals eating inside. We were offered nice table for two.
As it was written before it's the only place at Campo di Fiori without annoying staff at the door.
Waitress was average nice. Food was average-nothing to write about. Once ordered water we were given 1l bottle (the biggest in menu) and charged for... 0,5l ;). I guess staff has more to do that counting every penny.
It's a good place to eat something while visiting Campo di Fiori but definitely not worth coming back.

We were attracted to this restaurant as it appeared to be the only one in Campo di Fiori (close to our apartment) which did not have someone out front touting for business, a particular turnoff for me and my travelling companion. As well we had heard some good reports from fellow Australians who had dined there. Overall we both found it an average dining experience, good honest Italian food without being extraordinary. Having said that my grilled liver was perfectly cooked and very tasty indeed, as good as I've had anywhere. The wine accompanying the meal was a 2011 Feudi di San Gregorio Greco di Tufo (from Campania), an excellent foil for the food. Service was efficient but perfunctory, no doubt similar to most of the restaurants in the Campo. The cost at 67 Euros for the two of us was about what you'd expect for this level of dining. We dined inside due to the outdoor area being a smokers' zone, unfortunately the experience at most restaurants in Italy with indoor/outdoor eating areas, but hey, whatcha gonna do?

Overlooking one of the key squares this was good value, authentic Italian. Tables outside overlook the flower market and if you are happy to rebuff the regular rose sellers and other people selling cheap rubbish it is a great venue with live music much of the evening. We had a great bottle of local red and a plate of antipasto which had superb air dried hams, tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and garlic lemon potatoes. O ssobucco was lovely with loads of mushrooms. Hubbie had three cuts of rabbit which was excellent and a favorite in the restaurant. Cubes roast potatoes were great as was fresh artichoke. We did not manage pud but espresso was lovely and bill promptly delivered on request. At about €67 we thought it good value for such a great location

Picked this place because we wanted to sit outside. That was the best thing about it. The food and the service was horrible. Sad that this was out first meal in rome. I have to think the good reviews came from employees because really the food was not good. My husband ordered a pasta dish that was really greasy. I ordered lamb chops that we're good flavor but full of fat so was only able to get like two good bites of lamb. Could not get the check fast enough. We had a woman help us and her demeanor was horrid. Only left a tip (10%) because I didn't want to give anybody reason to dislike Americans. Stay away.

What a fantastic discovery on a rainy day! Hostaria Romanesca came highly recommended in the Lonely Planet guide, and that review did not disappoint! The prices were very reasonable, the food was homey and delicious, particularly the gnocchi. We spent a nice afternoon on the patio, sheltered from the rain, watching the Campo dei Fiori market takedown. We also noticed the waiter making some last-minute purchases from the slowly-closing market, most likely for the restaurant. Don't miss out on this place!
