While this is not the Ritz, it was an absolutely perfect choice for us. Immaculate, spacious room with a terrific and helpful host- Alberto. He provided us with maps, information, cotton slippers, a daily pitcher of water and a welcoming small bottle of wine and pannetone! The bed linens and towels were excellent but the small packets of shampoo and soap were not adequate for me.
This is in an older building, on the 4th floor with a "lift." There are two rooms, both with private bath, although ours was not "en suite" but separate from our room. Breakfast was pretty simple but adequate in a nicely decorated kitchen, with everything we needed.
We found it very convenient:the nearest buses/metro were about a five minute walk, but we actually went by foot to the Forum on our first morning, and we are not big "walkers." Termini Station where the Leonardo Express comes in is a fairly short walk. We took the inexpensive (4 euro) Terravision bus from the airport, but that meant we had to walk the entire length of the station - so it took us about 25 minutes dragging our suitcases.
We felt this was a great reasonable alternative to high priced hotels in Rome, and would definitely recommend it to our friends!More
