“Wonderful Place to Stay!!!”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Relais Vatican View in August 2012 and were so happy we did. We were greeted warmly and made to feel very welcomed. Our room was decorated very nicely and so clean. The air-conditioning kept the room so comfortable from the heat of the day. The staff were so helpful in providing a map of Rome and showing places of interest. The hotel is located within a five-minute walk of St. Peter's Square and the Vatican. In fact, at night you have a beautiful view of the Vatican lit up from the roof terrace of the hotel. After a day of sightseeing the amazing ruins of Rome, we enjoyed sipping wine, which we purchased at the hotel, on the roof terrace admiring the view. Amazing!!! We will always have very wonderful memories of our trip to Rome and stay at the Relais Vatican View. Should I ever be so fortunate to have the opportunity to visit Rome again, I will stay at the Relais Vatican View. Thank you, Alessandra, Daniel & Fabio!

Stayed here for four nights with my better half, and overall the hotel was very impressive.
We were greeted by Daniele on reception, an exceptionally friendly, enthusiastic guy who was always ready to help and offer advice on the best places to go in the city, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for him.
Our room was spotlessly clean and had a very contemporary, modern Italian feel about it with an excellent bathroom.
The hotel is fantastically positioned just a stone throw away from The Vatican, and it can be seen from the excellent, private rooftop terrace at the hotel, which we loved very much.
Despite being very close to the Vatican, it was surprisingly quiet at night, and we both got a decent nights sleep, and the shutters over the window meant there was little disturbance from streetlights etc.
Many thanks to Daniele for making our stay so enjoyable, I really hope to stay here again. I have stayed at a number of hotels in Rome over the years and this is without doubt my favourite.

My sister and I stayed 5 nights at Vatican View in September. The room was very spacious & clean. The boutique is in a great & quiet location....very close to Vatican and metro is only a 10 minute walk away. Right next to hotel is a really good cafe that serves great cappuccino and pastries, and a few blocks aways are bars & shops. Very friendly, helpful staff....assisted with all our inquires (prior & during our stay), and was helpful booking us a cab very early morning. Thanks to Daniel, Fabio & the rest of the amazing staff for a wonderful stay. Great value for the service.

I'm writing this review from the comfort of the sofa in our hotel room, using the free wifi.

The hotel looks a bit like services apartments from the exterior, you get a key to the main door and the reception is next door. It's right next to the Vatican wall and St Peters Square. 10 min walk from Ottoviano metro station which is handy, and 3 mins from a piazza of restaurants and cafes etc.

Rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean and modern. Although we have a flat screen tv there is not one single British channel - which is disappointing ! They are mostly Italian. That would probably be the only thing I could suggest for improvement at this hotel.

Staff are very helpful, showed us where to eat in Rome, which bus to get there and even wrote a translation in Italian of what to tell the bus driver.! Can't ask for more.

We bought me return tickets to the airport from Easyjet on the plane - Bus Shuttle from Rome airport into the city and there are 2 stops, Vatican and Termini. The best for this hotel is the Vatican and it drops you off about 15 mins walk away, only £12 return where a cab costs €60 each way. Would recommend this option. You can also buy the tickets at the bus station in the airport if you don't fly Easyjet.

Must also mention the fab rainfall shower - I will miss it.

Would definitely recommend - its quiet at night with no street noise and easy to get around on the metro during the day. Very good value for the price.

Dear Claire,
Thank you so much for the review.
We are glad to hear that everything went well, we are unhappy to read that there were no foreign channels. The channels are just that, at times, touching the buttons, can be deleted. If we had known earlier, we would set back the foreign channels on your TV. The next time you will find them :)!
Come back soon.

What a great hotel! Chose it for a stay in June '12 based on TripAdvisor reviews & location. The location is incredible - I would put it less than 200 yards from the walls of the Vatican. Room was fabulous - spacious bedroom & bathroom, newly renovated, clean, & comfortable. Staff was incredibly helpful too. Very happy with our choice for our 1st visit to Rome.

We stayed in this hotel during the August bank holiday and thought it was great. Rooms are super modern and clean, bed is huge and comfy and bathroom full of all the mod cons. There is even a roof terrace where you can take up some drinks (they sell some lovely wine in the reception which is very reasonable) which is open 24 hours and a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Rome.

Location was perfect for us. It is right next to the Vatican which is busy during the mornings but nice and quiet at night. We liked to walk from the hotel over the river into central Rome. For those not good on their feet, it would be a bit far to walk to some of the main attractions (trevi fountain etc), but all of the hop on and hop off bus tours stop right near the hotel. There are plenty of taxis too. We preferred this location as it was so calm and quiet later on.

You can't go wrong with this place and for this price it is amazing value. A really lovely stay.

We stayed in the suite for 2 nights. We had a great time. A spacy room with an own terace (not large but lovely and well situated) and a privat way up to the roof terrace. A wonderfull and large shower. A small kitchen including a fridge and cooking spots (the hotel doesn't have a dining-facility, which you don't need by the way). Lots of dining facilities in the nearby area. A great roofterrace where you van spend your evening with some social contact of you like (sometimes arranged by the staff as tonight). We also had our own breakfast here with bread, juice and coffee. So a wonderfull hotel to stay, which leaves many options how to create your own holidays. We will definitely come back next time. Great job Fabio and staff! Vera & Dirk Netherlands
