“Excellent food”

We entered this restaurant by chance and got one of the best meals we had in Rome. Fish of the day was fantastic, the staff was very nice, service quick. Baby friendly (in our stroller). Recommended!

“Unexpectedly great”
Reviewed October 13, 2012 via mobile

We stayed in hotel Julia above this restaurant. Never thought of trying it until our last night. What a mistake ! The gnocchi was delicious, the arrabiata pasta devine. The price, good. If we had more nights left, we'd definately come back. Much closer to the quality we're used to, than some of the touristy restaurants. Highly recommended !!

“Not impressed ...!”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Very slow service & unhelpful staff. Our party of 6 had arrived early evening and only 6 other diners were in the restaurant at the time, but we waited for 1 hour & still hadn't even received our cold starters whilst other people who came in a lot later than us, had theirs and were on to Main course. We also had to wait 20 minutes to get a bottle of wine which we had asked for straight way – and then only after asking for it twice! When we spoke to the Manager to ask after our food he was arrogant and rude stating ‘if we wanted microwave food we could go elsewhere.’ This added insult to injury as we all enjoy good food and wine and so we got up and walked out after paying for the wine we had consumed. His manner was unbelievable. We were very disappointed after reading the good reviews & wouldn't go there again

“Delicious traditional roman food”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

In a quiet street near Trevi and the Spanish stairs you can find a small restaurant called Hostaria Rasella. There are four tables outside and some more inside. The significant difference we observed with most of the other restaurants in that area was the relaxed approach of the serving staff. The staff was very friendly, interested and informative. And besides this, the food was delicious. On the menu there was a sufficient choice of traditional recipes. We were so enthusiast about this restaurant that we ate 3 out of 4 evenings in this quiet oasis in a hectic place like the absolute center of Rome.

“Amazingly delicious!”
Reviewed August 28, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I agree that this was the best meal we had during our 5 days in Rome. Everything is fresh and unlike typical Roman tourist food. We started with the eggplant Parmesan which was good and paired it with the soup of the day, which was vegetable soup. Best veggie soup I've ever had. Also spit a salad of zucchini and cherry tomatoes. Fabulous! Split the main course of the mixed fish platter. The fish were cooked perfectly, not dried out. The tiramisu is like none I've had before. If you're in town and want a great meal but don't want to leave the barbarini area this place is terrific. Mario, the owner talked with us off and on for our 2 hours there. Great host!
