“Great stay, value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

Been there for four nights at August, booked last-minute. reception were very welcoming on arrival, and we came at 2:30am. They served us some food so we won't sleep hungry, and we got a room - economy- which was very small but of high quality. The day afterwards we asked to change a room because the a\c was weak and they were very attentive and change us to a regular room at the same price.
Great staff- very helpful, breakfast was ok+ and the hotel is generally of high quality. Would go again.

Room Tip: Make sure to pay attention if you buy the economy room- its really small!

We traveled to Rome last fall and stayed at Hotel 939 for five nights based off of Rick Steve's recommendation. We were traveling through Europe for a month and were on somewhat of a tight budget. While this particular hotel was one of the more costly on our trip, I felt it was one of the best values.

We stayed in a newly updated room with a king bed; the room itself was quite small which is typical of Europe. The room [thankfully] had air conditioning and really fast WiFi. My only complaint would be that the bathroom/shower was very small and the toilet sometimes hard to flush.

The hotel is in the BEST location. Five minutes away you'll find the Spanish Steps... five minutes in the other direction you'll find Piazza Navona. You can easily walk to Trevi and the Colosseum. The Vatican is the furthest major sight yet it was still a walkable distance (25-30 minutes). The closest metro is Spagna, but you won't really even need it. On route to the Spanish Steps you'll find dozens of shops from Louis Vuitton to Nike.

I'll absolutely stay at Hotel 939 when I return to Rome; you'd be hard-pressed to find a hotel at this price in this location.

The location of the hotel is great, a 7 minute walk from the Spanish steps but this is also the nearest metro station so if you are gonna travel a lot by metro I would suggest something closer to termini for example because there are much cheaper hotels there.

If you want to explore Rome mostly on foot this hotel is great. You can walk to nearly every highlight within 30min. Also, the staff was awesome, they are o so friendly, but the room was not superb, the bed was decent and the room was clean but the bathroom was terrible. It was small, the shower was broke and we could shower for like three minutes max until it started to flood.

That being said, we went to Rome to explore it on foot and stay in the hotel as less as possible so for us it was a good deal. Ooh and the Wifi was great, it was free and the connection was really fast and always worked.

When travelling I'm choosing hotels in the city center and for reasonable price. The hotel in Rome was hard enough to find, 'cause my budget was tight and expectations - great )) You know. But as I check the location of "939", immediately booked. I don't understand what other guys awareing you of - the apartments are just GREAT. Moreover, it's near Spanish steps, Corso, Pantheon and a full range of trattorias, shops and bars. What else should I say?
The room looks fashionable, it has cool window, awsome view, tiny bathroom. I didn't find any problems.
It has no bar and lobby, but the breakfast room in baroque style with a rich breakfast every morning.
If you came for shopping - absolutely right choice, the hotel just 2 minutes walk from the famous streets like Corso & via Condotti. If the main interest is sights - then you're on your way too! Pantheon, Navona, Spagna - just around the corner.

Spent 4 nights here July 2011 at the end of a 2 week trip to Italy. This was by far our worst room of the trip even though it was the most expensive. Room was musty, dingy and in disrepair (you could see into the hallway through gaps around the door). Staff was only mildly interested in making sure we enjoyed our stay.

This small Hotel is located in best arrondisement in Rome. When you go out, you are just near the Spanish and Pantheon and Via Del Corso and ... Capitol etc. Everywhere you can reach without using a communitation if you are just a bit "city-hiker".
In the hotel there is always some staff ready to help you, answering your questions (in english also) etc.
There is AC and you can really rest after long walking on the Rome's streets (especially in the summer days). Breakfast is fair with italian style. Bathroom was quiet small, but clean and towels changed every day. We stayed 5 days and never got any problem with the hotel.
