“Very good hotel”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

Best stay I've had ever. We made a citytrip and the circumstances were optimal. The personell was very kind, helpful and polite, breakfast was very good, we got clean towels every day and we we're in the center of the city. The reason for four dots is that the beds were very hard (seems to be normal in Italy, so I'm not sure if that's fair) and the shower was a bit tight for my 1.90m friend. Had a very nice stay though, would highly recommend this hotel!

My wife and I stayed at the Metropolis hotel for 3 nights (8-11 november 2012) to celebrate our 10th anniversery.
We found the hotel wonderfull:
1. The staff: all of them spoke exellent english and they were polite and eagre to help and very informative. we booked a tour to the Vatikan with them and it was wonderfull (the booking and the tour). I would specificly would mention Christiano and Linda - Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind service.
2. Location - 5 minutes away from the Vatikan (walking ofcorse). a metro station and a bus station on the street crossing the hotel's - less then a minute away. We walked everywhere - 20 minutes to Piaza de Navona and the center. Excellent location for people who dont mind walking.
3. Interior - the rooms are small but not to much - not as small as in France but not as big as in Israel. the toilet and bathroomis very big and convinient. equiped with hair dryer and bide. there is a minibar and air-condition. the whole place (loby, room and dining room) looks newly done - everything is new and clean.
4. Food - We only had breakfast and it was wonderful - eggs, omlets, bacon, meatballs, cheese, ham and salami, fresh salad fruit and many more - all fresh tasty and done in a beautiful way - it is worth mentoning that even though the dining room is sepose to be closed at 1030, at least one time we saw them filling the buffet at 10:20 (when you would expect to se them stsrting to close things uo - it made us feel very comfortable). During breakfast they also served coffe (espresso and likes) without extra charge.
5. View - nothing special - either the street or a parking lot. it was quiet and since we were out of the hotel during the whole day - it didn't bother us at all.
6. checking in/out - checking in was quick and easy - they even told us we can get in before 14:00. checking out - we had a flight in the evening and they kept our lugage with a smile and hosted us in their lobby with a great smile and coffe.

whole in whole - worth more than the charge. we would absalutely go back there and recimmend it to all our friends.

חברה - רוצו לשם - המלון נפלא. האוכל, השירות והחדרים - מדהים. מיקום נוח ליד הותיקן ומרחק הליכה מכל מקום (עד 20/30 דקות מכל מקום). מומלץ בחום.

Room Tip: we staye at room 205 - it looks over a parking lo - it was very quiet. the other side over looks the...

We went to Rome to get a cruise and we stayed first in Hotel Columbus that was a disaster and then in our return we stayed at Metropolis. The Hotel is beautiful in the inside, very high tech.
Rooms were confortable, they had a very nice bed, very nice shower.
The staff was very very very friendly, they took time to explain us how everything work at the Hotel, no rush.
The breakfast was included and it was very good and that was a big plus, internet is also included.
The Hotel is located in a very safe area, with in wlaking distance of the Vatican, and allothe attractions. We walked til late every night and it was calm nd nice.

We stayed at Metropolis for 3 nights in September 2012 and would recommend this hotel. We had a quiet room which was big by European standards. The hotel was very clean and the front desk staff spoke English and were very helpful with answering any questions we had. We walked to the Vatican which was a very nice walk about 10 minutes and had excellent weather while visiting Rome.

The breakfast room was very clean, excellent choices, restocked things when they were running low and the waitresses were very friendly and accomodating.

We would recommend this hotel as it is out of the center and quiet!

Just spent 2 nights at this hotel and think it's great. We were 2 adults and 1 kid so had a triple room which was massive - one of the biggest rooms we've ever had. Very modern, jacuzzi bath is a must after pounding the streets of Rome...Heaven. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of selection, waitresses very nice. Reception staff were ok
Hotel location perfect - we wanted to be out of the center. We were 4 min walk from Lepanto metro station which took you to all the main sites ( metro is superb and very easy in Rome). Or it was a 10 min walk to Piazza del Popolo - from here spanish steps were another 5/10 mins and trevi fountain another 5/10 mins - then about another 15/20 mins walk to the Colosseum. Sounds like a lot but when you are just strolling along in no hurry it really isn't. In the other direction from the hotel - 10 min walk to the Vatican, st peters square.
would def recommend staying at this hotel.

So we flew to Fiumicino Airport with Easyjet from Bristol. The public transport is really good there. Our hotel was in Vatican City so we took the Leonardo Express train to the City Centre (it takes about half an hour). There is also a bus that takes you to the City Centre but it takes about an hour. Once in the centre it’s really easy to take the Metro which took us to our stop and our hotel was literally a 3 minute walk from Lepanto Station!

We stayed at Hotel Metropolis which is a 4 star hotel (by European standards) and included breakfast. It’s a fairly new hotel, quite stylish but don’t expect the Marriot! The facilities were great, bed was comfortable but more importantly it was really quiet (especially important for me as I’m a really light sleeper)! Our room only had a shower, no bath but you can upgrade. Here’s the link if you want to take a look: http://www.hotelmetropolisrome.com/ There is not much around the hotel though, so if you want to go for a meal you will need to take a bus or the Metro to get you to the centre but it’s really easy. Failing that, the hotel does have its own restaurant which we ate at on the first night. It was nice but there wasn’t much choice.

My top tip would be to get a 3 day Open Top Bus Tour which will take you to all the main sights. The one we went with was called Roma Christiana, they charged Euro 26 per person for 3 days and this included unlimited use of the open top bus, the Metro, the tram and the bus so it was really easy to get around.
