After visiting several lame and tasteless Italian eateries, it was nice to come upon this restaurant. The food was awesome, the location ideal, the atmosphere was perfect, and so was the service. We liked it so much we went back twice. The food was quality and the restaurant was perfect for our toddler son to entertain himself while we ate. They really took care of the three of us and meet all our needs. It's family friendly, group friendly, and romantic too. It's practically next door to the Trevi Fountain and across from several souvenir shops.
The only negative was that on our second visit, when the waiter found out we were American, he made it a point to tell both me and my husband, separately, that tip was not included. In most cases, as it was in this restaurant, the service fee is typically added to the bill and any additional tipping is uncommon from the locals and discretionary. While we tipped both times in addition to the added service fee, it was disappointing to hear the waiter reach out and try to get more money. To take advantage of American tourist who may not know Roman tipping practices was not nice and took away from an almost perfect experience. We would have tipped him more if he had only kept his mouth shut. I would still go back and still recommend it. Just don't start a conversation with the waiter, he may try to milk it.
