“SO SO / COSI COSI”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2013

It could become very good because it has the potential............but it lacks finishing on two very important points. The kitchen and the service. The setting is very good , small facade and the first thing you see is the fresh (!) fish and you think YES this will be delicious. Timeless interior well designed. The waiters are willing to help you but lack professionalism. Mistakes, guests / tables not well looked after , not knowing that what you order is not there. We tasted several dishes of raw fish and squid and they were served too warm and almost tasteless. The grilled fish, gambas , shrimps and vongole missed taste. I eat this kind of food better prepared for less than half price on the Mediterranian Coast. I do not mind paying a bit higher price for a good meal but then I want quality on my plate. Sorry we ate better in less posh places in Italy.

“Very nice restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

I'm agree - one of the best fish and seafood restaurant. We were only one table of foreigners in the restaurant and it was no free table. The products arrive in this very time when we came in the restaurant - around 8 p.m. As I understood they have special supplier per some product, for example they have a girl who supply every day the fresh sea urchins. Very good carte des vins!

“Fresh seafood at its best...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

There is no need to write many words on this restaurant. Ambience good, inside decoring good, backyard good, service very good... BUT the most important is the presentation of the fresh seafood and the quality of it, perfect. We tried most of the menu including a magnificient seafood gnocchi and eveything we ate was flawless. Especially ask for the mixed fruit and dessert plate at the end, piece of art. This is a must been place when you are in Rome. Highly recomended.

“Gullibles”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

It looked great just inside the door with a great display of fresh fish but the experience was different. The menu was difficult to understand and we had no idea what we were paying for, We depended on the staff for advice but we were taken for a ride. The starter was large but mostly deep fried and the main courses were very similar. We felt pressurised into accepting their recommendations which were very poor The cost for four was almost 400 euros. Never again..

“Nice but could be better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Went on our last night in Rome. Had been very highly recommended. Yes, seeing crates of fresh seafood as you enter restaurant meant that seafood would certainly be fresh. Snagged an outdoor table - great. Waiters tried to upsell us on everything, from wine to food. Brought me a bottle of wine three times the price of what I ordered - sent it back. Listened (unfortunately) to waiter and ended up with about twice the amount of food we actually needed. Was the food good - it was OK. Was it expensive - yes. Are there better seafood restaurants in Rome - most certainly. Having the overweight, improperly attired owner sit court and float around to tables of regulars was a bit annoying. He was like Caesare overseeing his court. Just because he has photos with Deniro and Pacino, and Stalone, in the front entrance, doesn't mean the place is all it's cracked up to be. Overall, just average.
