After a day of fighting crowds while sightseeing (especially at the Vatican) what a delight to dine in this lovely rooftop setting with the illuminated dome of St. Peter in the distance. Yes, this restaurant is pricey, but the food is very good and the service excellent. So many restaurants in Italy overwhelm visitors with far too many choices. Sofa, on the other hand, presents about 10 options for each course, so you can tell they are special. Though there are no doubt many foreign visitors at this hotel, the waitstaff seemed to appreciate our speaking Italian.
